I was wondering if anybody can give me advice. I have chapped lips and the thing is around the outside of my lip line is chapped. I have tried chapped stick and carmex. I'm going on vacation next week and I would love for this to clear up. Right now it looks like I don't know how to put lipstick on my lips. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all for the wonderful advice. My lips are clearing up and I'm so happy that they did. The doctor prescribed a steriod to clear it up. They also gave me samples of the lotion that they have it is better then over the counter. My lips were peeling, so I put the lotion on and they look 10 times better. Thank you again.

i've had that problem for a few years, tried everything i could find, chapsticks, bagbalm, vaseline everything. i went to my dermatologist and he said that there's a balm that is behind the counter but not prescription at most drug stores made by a derm. its called Dr. Dan's Cortibalm
its the only lip balm i know of that also has hydrocortisone in it. i love it.
used to put chapsticks on every 20 min impulsively and i've noticed an extreme decrease.
also DRINK LOTS OF WATER.i had the best feeling of moist lips after i had a kidney stone and they pumped me with liquid constantly lol

I used to get chapped lips really bad along with the little pieces of skin that stuck out on my lips which made wearing lipstick impossible. I tried a lot of different products that just didn't work, and what I learned was that most have petroleum based ingredients in them which is actually harmful to the skin and they just don't work. Then I was introduced to Arbonne and they have an all natural lip balm and lip service treatment system that's awesome! I'm now using a lot of their products and have seen amazing results! You can check it out at www.vickimartinez.myarbonne.com. There's also a 45 day money back guarantee. Hope this helps!

I haven't tried this myself, but I have heard that Lansinoh cream that you use on your nipples when you breast feed works really well.

Hi my name is T. Billington and I am a rep for BeautiControl. I have a mobile spa business. I have the same spa treatments and anti-aging products that you can get at your local spas for 1/3 of the cost. I know that you do not know me and you get bombarded with all of the other direct sales companies but I want to show you that I am different! I could help you a few ways one is I GUARANTEE ALL of my products if it does not work the way I tell you it should you get your money back from me no questions just good business, second I will send you free samples so you can try it before you would ever buy anything, third I promise that you will get the best service possible I own this business and this is how I support my family. You have nothing to lose also we have skin care that is comparable to high end department store. I can also set up appointments to do consultations for skin care, anti-aging, spa, and makeovers.
I have something called Lip Appeal and it is a mask that you let dry on your lips and then scuff away all of the dead skin and then there is a balm to follow it has been voted number one out of 5000 lip balms by Allure Magazine. Carmex and some of the other lip balms have menthaol which are additive products and the actulay dry out your lips even more like once you start you have to be putting it on constantly. Ours you use it once and three hours later it still feels silky smooth.
Lip Appeal comes with the balm for 19.00
Lip balm in the tub is 10.00
and the Lip Balm in the stick is 10.50
Hi C.! I can help you! My son had the worst chapped lips I had ever seen. They progressivly got worse and it was on his skin all around his mouth. I finally went to the dr. and their advice did the trick. Aquaphor on the actual lips. He had a little scabbing on the skin under his bottom lip so we put neosporin on that twice a day until the scab came off. The skin on the top of his lip was just really badly chapped so we put the over the counter hydrocorizone cream on that twice a day. When the scabbing was gone from the bottom lip we then went to hydrocortizone on the top and bottom skin. This cleared up within 3-4 days! We still continue with the aquaphor. Good luck - D. H.

My nephew and another friend of ours has this same problem. Their doctor's told them it is very common, but it is a type of "fungus" and it takes a special cream to clear it up. It really wasn't a big deal, and it cleared it up in just a few doses. If you can get to the doctor maybe it will work before your vacation. Good Luck and have a great trip> :)

this might sound wierd but i just got over a major cold with horribly runny nose- my nostrils actually got chapped and looked SO gross after all that rubbing (luckily i took today off work). i actually used oil of olay moisturizer and it cleared it up in about 36 hours. might not taste good but i bet it would work for your lips too.

I do in home spas with Beauticontrol and love our lip balm - it was rated #1 lip balm by Allure magazine out of 1000 lip balms! It comes by itself or with an exfoliator so you can get off the dead skin so the balm can get down and work better - let me know if you're interested in some!

Good luck with it and have a wonderful vacation!
