Be careful what you eat before going to bed. Sometimes eating late and going to bed on a full stomach causes nightmares. Pregnancy causes harmones to go awry sometimes, just RELAX!
I am 9 weeks pregnant with my first child, and recently I have been having the weirdest dreams which are keeping me awake at night. The dream last night was the worst. I delivered my baby in the toilet and it looked like a chicken breast which turned into a fish with hands, feet, and a tail!!! My husband says it's normal but I've never heard anyone compllain about this during their pregnancy...any suggestions?

Relax, its very normal!! You made me laugh so hard because I remember having those crazy dreams. Good luck with you pregnacy! Hope you have a healthy one and a healthy baby!
Yes it is very normal! You probably don't hear about it much, because most of us just tell our husband's about it( who are sometimes having crazy dreams of their own)and we both just laugh it off. I think it has alot to do with hormones, and your fears of being a good mother. Rest assured your baby will not turn into a chicken, or fish. Congratulations, you'll do great!
LOL That is quite a dream you had:) I think it is normal me and my friends all had crazy dreams.I had dream all through out my first pregnancy, but with my second I had a few but not too many, mainly just in my first trimester.Just remeber they are only dreams:)
It is absolutly normal. Don't let them scare you.
It is prefectly normal to have those dreams. My pregnancy nightmare is that my girls would be born with two buck teeth, giant frekles, and crazy red curly hair. It is your subconsciece working your fears out. Don't worry. My suggestion is to keep a dream journal (if the dreams continue) and look at it after your baby is born. A lot of times the entries are very funny post delivery.
It is NORMAL sweetie. Don't worry okay, your not crazy; your pregnant.
I had very strange dreams during my pregnancy. Nothing to worry about. Your mind (bathed in all of its new hormones) is working out the idea of "what it means" to be a mother and have a baby. Let your brain work through the changes as your body continues to make a person. Very normal, nothing to worry about.
I had a recurring dream eerily similar to the one you described when I was 8 or 9 weeks pregnant with my daughter. I would also have nightmares about having miscarriages, or giving birth to grotesquely deformed babies. I even once had a dream that I gave birth to the 'baby' from David Lynch's movie "Eraserhead" (don't watch the film out of curiosity--just trust me that my dream was not pleasant). I also had many dreams that I was being chased and I would try to run and run but I just couldn't run fast enough. I would wake up so frightened I could not go back to sleep. I finally stopped having nightmares at around 16 weeks. Thank goodness! I'm so glad that you asked this question. My daughter is now 15 and believe it or not, I've never told anyone about those dreams until now (not even my husband). The dreams are normal. First of all your hormones are going crazy and second of all it is scary to be newly pregnant and your subconscious will worry about all kinds of things through your dreams. It will pass, and you will be okay! I hope this was helpful.
Congrats on your pregnancy!

Wow - that is some dream. I can't say as I ever had anything like that during my pregnancies, but I can certainly sympathize. Pregnancy can cause all sorts of wierd things and perhaps your dr/nurse could give you some reassuring advice. It may have something to do with what you eat or drink, or perhaps you saw a movie or television show which influenced your sleep. I would suggest that you just tell yourself it's just a dream, shake it off and go forward. Good luck and good health.
Don't worry it's very normal. I once dreamed that i gave myself a csection and the baby's head was out and it wasn't breathing, so i started giving it cpr. Then it turned into a snake(my biggest fear) and crawled away. You will have many wild crazy dreams throughout your pregnancy, some related to the pregnancy some completely off the wall...but experts says its normal...it's your mind adjusting to the big change in life that a baby brings to you.
Yep, totally normal!
LOL. I mean...well...very common!
Enjoy the ride :) Maybe the dreams will get cuter, too.

You are definitely going to get responses confirming your dreams are very normal. I too had these dreams with my 1st child. I was told that it is part of the anxiety of feeling out of control in some ways about what is happening to your body and some of the anxiety of being able to care for a baby. I didn't feel worried during the pregnancy and all went well so I didn't think I had any of these anxiety issues. One of my recurring dreams was that I was in a mall shopping and I would forget where I left the baby. Talk about waking up panicked and sad! It seemed the more I worried about having baby bad dreams, the more they occurred. Try to relax, it's all part of the wonders and mysteries of pregnancy!
Oh yes, very normal. I think my recurring dream was that my baby was an alien or had an alligator head or something. :) I think all of the fears and worries of pregnancy catch up with us when we are sleeping. :)
mine were always that i would step over something and the baby would just fall out! then it turned out to be a rabbit and everyone just stood around saying, "My, what a large rabbit!" no one seemed surprised to see a rabbit but me! now, both of my labours were incredibly short (2.5 hrs for #1 and 45 minutes for #2) and both were large babies, but not rabbits. you probably won't give birth to a chicken breast! i'm sure your baby is ok! crazy dreams are just crazy dreams ;)
I am trying really hard not to laugh too loud in my office right now! This is completely NORMAL! With my first I had reoccuring dreams about A strange lady coming to my house selling muffins. She would stalk me through all the windows and I couldnt get rid of her.....I figured out that being a newly wed and not being proficient in the kitchen that I was worried about feeding my family. WIth my second I had dreams related to delivering twins in the car while driving and my older one (2 1/2 yo) was in the back of the car screaming- I jusr figured I was overwhelmed by the thought fo having to keep track of more than one kid. With my third, my daughter, my dreams were more subdued, but I think that is becasue I was so exhausted I just dont remember them.
Write down your dreams, they make for funny stories to tell your kids 10-15 years down the line...... LOL!!
Perfectly normal. My husband's family swears that fish dreams are the first sign of pregnancy, even before a positive test! In fact, if anyone in the child-bearing-age women in our family has dreams of fish in any way shape or form we swear each other to secrecy and hide it from the elders otherwise we get people eyeballing our stomachs for months suspecting we are pregnant! No worries, you are just fine!
I am sure a ton of other mothers will tell you the same, its normal. My dreams were sometimes awful. I remember my worst one, i gave birth to a litter of werewolves. I woke in a complete sweat. They do eventually let up.
Yup, it's normal!! I kept having dreams I was going to have a giant red pony!! Just remember them, because although it is freaky now, it can become funny later!! good luck!! oh, and if morning sickness is bothering you, I used to drink 7-up and eat wheat thins :)
hahaha! Yes ma'am! Completely normal!!
I dreamt I had like 4-10 babies... and not enough boobs to feed them all! --and no.. a bottle and package of formula was not an options!! GOOD LUCK! ITS WORTH IT!!!!!
I know how scary it is to have those dreams. When I was pregnant with my first child ,I dreamed I had delivered and everything was going as normal.I was going to the nursery to see my daughter for the first time.I walked in the nursery and everyone then started acting wierd. I walked over to the crib and pulled the cover back and saw a litter of black lab puppies. They were the cutiest puppies, and the staff kept asking me if Iwas ready to take the babies home.I woke up horrified and scared to death.Don't try to read to much into your dreams, your hormones are crazy.I think that is why we all dream such strange dreams. My puppy has now grown-up to be the proud and wonderful Mother of 4 of her own puppies, and she had stange dreams with every pregnancy.
Yes, that is perfectly normal! I am 29 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy and I still have crazy dreams. I remember thinking that something was wrong with me when it started during the first pregnancy, but now I expect the odd dreams I have almost nightly.
It helps me feel better when I share the dreams with my husband or a friend. Do not think anything is wrong with you. Instead, try to appreciate your creative mind.
I had all kinds of crazy dreams while I was pregnant, and from what I've heard from other women, it's pretty normal. I had a dream once that my son was black (which would take a lot of explaining haha) and another that he looked REALLY weird. And I also had dreams that I had twins, but I didn't think they were that cute in my dream. I felt so guilty afterwards.
anyway, don't worry about it. They may be freaky, but they're just dreams... and normal. Hope they get better!
yep, crazy dreams are normal! I remember my teacher having to deliver mine and his hands were coming out of my belly! I don't think there's much you can do, just enjoy all that being pregnant entails!
I had really crazy and weird dreams during my pregnancy. I would have 5-6 weird dreams a night. Its normal due to the high hormones.

LOL That's a good one! These types of dreams are very normal! My mother had dreams of giving birth to kittens while she was pregnant with me. I've had much more vivid and strange dreams during both of my pregnancies too.
Sounds normal to me. The dreams are your brain's way of working through your anxieties about parenthood. My husband had some very strange new baby and parenting dreams, so it's not just women that get them. It's normal to be worried about parenting, and even sometimes to not want to be pregnant or to have a baby. I was scared to death I wouldn't like my kid and I'd be stuck with him for 18 years, and worried I wouldn't know how to care for him and he'd grow up horribly dysfunctional, but he's 19 months now and we even have a 7-week-old, and things are going great. You'll do fine, nightmares notwithstanding!
