I would like your experiences with daycares in Coppell - good & bad.
I currently have my kids in private in home care, but I am not happy with the amount of time my kids spend in car seats as she takes her kids to/from school, I also feel my 2 1/2 year old needs social interaction and more structured learning than he is getting so I am exploring day care. I know the best info will come from you all!! Let me know what you think!

What can I do next?

Hi P., I would go to this website and look up the daycares in the 75019 zip code and then look to see which ones have violations.

The Peanut Gallery in Coppell I would steer clear of unless they've gotten a new director and/or gotten better about who they hire for teachers. My daughter and my friend's daughter went there and their teacher was fired for slapping a child. I also saw that they had a violation where a teacher locked a child in the closet. This was about two years ago.

We did have a good experience with Children's Courtyard. And they have webcam so I could watch them in their classroom's while I was at work.

Our 5 year old went to Peanut Gallery after-school, sometimes before. That room always seemed chaotic or they were watching TV. Not very happy with the "vibes" that we would get. I don't know about the toddler/infant rooms. Their outside facilites seem a bit lacking and the pool makes me nervous.

I highly recommend Primrose in Coppell. The director and assistant director are wonderful, as well as the teachers and owners. My kids were both there from 5 months through their private K program and they loved it. I have quite a few friends who's kids are there now.

The assistant director was in the infant room when my oldest (9) was there as a baby so we've known her for a long time.

If you check them out please tell them that Judy recommended them! I still stop by with my kids every so often to see their favorite teachers.

I live in Coppell but actually have my daughter in a daycare part-time in Grapevine, about a 12 min drive through town. (We found it because it's near my husband's work.) The Peanut Gallery on Ball. I like it a LOT. An older building that feels like a school more than a daycare. Everyone who works there is real nice and seems more than qualified to do their jobs (the baby room in particular is always peaceful and well-taken-care-of by two older women; I would totally leave an infant there). Also rates are good and they're pretty flexible on hours and billing.

My daughter is almost 21 months and she really seems to enjoy it; I had also put her in because I felt she needed the socialization.

Please let me know if you have any questions,
J.

My best friends' grandson has gone to The Peanut Gallery on Sandy Lake Rd. since he was a new born; they (the child, the parents and the grandmother) all think it's fabulous. He has thrived and grown there.

I had a good experience with Children's Courtyard when my daughter was little but I have to say that if I were looking now I would put her in the Coppell Primrose school. Everyone I know is very happy there. They have a much stronger curriculum for their preschool also. I was about to go back to work last summer and did a lot of research on the different day cares including talking to people I know who have kids there, work there or do some sort of therapy work up there. And I really liked the teachers that I met when I was there.

It's such a hard decision, I hope you find a better situation that you are more comfortable with!!!

I have to tell you to steer WELL CLEAR of Kids R Kids for infants and toddlers. We had the most awful experience with them to the point I had to report them to the state.

I LOVE Primrose out here in Highland village, but they are a bit pricey.

Good luck.
