yup! I know the feeling! I am 17weeks and the same thing here. I don't know why b/c I don't remember it being like that with my other 2 pregnancies. I use panty liners to keep up but that's all I know to do.:)
So I'm 18 weeks pregnant and everything is just fine except that I have tremendous amounts of discharge. It is normal in both odor and color and my doctor checked at my last visit (less than two weeks ago) and I do not have an infection. While I'm not worried about there being anything wrong, I was just wondering if anyone else has had something similar during pregnancy and if there was anything that you found that made you more comfortable. I have to wear a maxi pad every day or my, um, nether regions get all irritated from the moisture.

Hi C.,
No, it doesn't sound like a medical problem. Perhaps a hormone fluctuation. I would still take care to avoid a yeast or urinary tract infection. Sometimes a yeast infection does not look like the typical white cottage cheese like discharge...sorry....I am a retired ob nurse and sometimes you just have to describe what is going on. If you have any shiney skin or itching around the vulva, that would make me suspect a yeast infection. Ask your doctor if you could take a supplement of acidolphilus. Or simply eat a high grade yogurt every day and see if anything changes. Good luck and enjoy your pregnancy! You are in the fun time!

I had that with my second pregnancy too and was told all the same stuff...wear panty liners or pads and use baby powder. By mistake I grabbed the baby powder with cornstarch (instead of talc) and found that it had MUCH better feel and absorbtion!! Don't go expensive, most grocery stores have their own brand you can buy for very litle. Just make sure it has cornstarch in it. You'll feel a difference right away! Hope this helps and congrats on your bun in the oven! :)
It is really common for you to have a lot of discharge during pregnancy. Your body creates more mucus everywhere that you produce mucus. Wearing a pad or pantyliner will help or if you don't mind you could always go comando-it is actually really good for your nether regions to get air.
I had this too....it's called leaukhorria...pretty sure I spelled that wrong....but my doctor assured me it's normal and just something that happens....my husband was a little freaked out about it, but pretty much EVERYTHING about being pregnant freaks a man out...as long as you are healthy and your baby is healthy none of that other stuff matters! As for comfort...I was told to use some baby powder to absorb the moisture...hope this helps....in any case congrats on making a new, precious soul for the world....
I had the same issue when I was pregnant. My doctor checked it every once in a while to make sure it was not an infection, and I watched it closely. Just stay on top of it but it is normal. I never really found anything that made it more "comfortable", sorry!
Yeah, it goes with the territory. As long as the discharge doesn't change color or become foul smelling, it's just one of those lovely things that make pregnancy that much more wonderful!!!! I've had three kids (4 yr old, 22 month old, 11 week old) and had it with all three, wearing a maxi pad is pretty much all you can do and change it frequently to keep the area dry. If it gets too irritated see the doc, they might be able to get you something for the irritation.
I noticed that no one mentioned "trick" it's short for (and forgive my spelling) trickanosis ?any way i had it when i was pregnant and when i got up in the morning to go to the bathroom, i would drip this discharge all the way to the bathroom. I had to take a pill after the baby was born, my husband did too as they say the man carries it but has no symptoms but he passes it to the woman over and over if he is not treated too. It was milky white had no odor and was runny and thin. No itching but a little skin irritation if i recall (hey it was 23 yrs ago!) i would think however that your doctor would have picked up on it when you were there two weeks ago, so it's very possible that this is not what you have, just wanted to give you a heads up to think about the possibility. Good luck
There is a discharge that you can get during pregnancy called Leukorrhea. It is usually white and is harmless. You can check out any pregnancy book or website and I'm sure it can explain it further. If you have pain, burning or a discharge that is not clear or white and is thick, then you should go back to the Dr. Otherwise, it is Leukorrhea and I've read that it can get quite heavy in some women and you may just have to wear a pad or pantyliner to keep you dry.
All that you can really do is just stay clean and dry, keep wearing a pad and add some baby powder with the pad. I'm 28 weeks pregnant and only had a very little bit of this, but staying dry down there is crucial because it is so easy to get an infection right now. You will have more wierd things come up, but most of it will be normal. LOL!
It is very common in most pregnancys. I didn't have it bad enough to wear maxi pad, but it sounds like you are doing everything you can do it should start to let up during the middle of your second trimester.
I'm 15 weeks pregnant and have the same problem. Haven't found a solution to help though.
Oy! I wish someone had warned me about the discharge thing before I got pregnant so I could have been better prepared for it! I'm now baking my third kid, and have finally figured out that cloth pads (luna pads, mama cloth) work wonderfully well to sop up that extra moisture and keep you from getting irritated down there. I wear them daily, and love that I can just throw them in the wash and use them over and over again. Maxi pads and liners didn't work for me - they don't breathe well enough to keep my skin happy.
Congrats on your pregnancy!
I had the same thing happen to me but mine was during my entire pregnancy. Everything was normal it was just annoying.
I always have some discharge but when pregnant, it was a lot more!
I went through several panty liners a day. Just change out the liners often is my only advice. I tried some feminine powders just to ease my mind about odor.
Good luck!
