I have three dogs (all rescues), and all three shed. However, the worst offender is my Australian Shepherd; he sheds all-year-round and in large amounts. He sheds in long, smooth, individual hairs instead of in clumps. I've kind of accepted that I need to sweep my kitchen twice a day to keep it fur-free, and vacuum daily. What I cannot accept is the copious amounts of fur in the bathtub. Cleaning it up is very difficult (there always seems to be some left, no matter how long I scrub) and every day there seems to be more. It sticks to the walls and in the creases. I just do not have the time and energy to scrub the bathtub every day. Does anyone have any tricks or solutions to help me out?
I adopted a rescue dog this fall and shewas shedding SO much! I asked the vet about it -he said give her a better quality of food with omega 3's in it and omega 3 supplements. Wow! What a difference! She still sheds but it is much better!
I vacume my bath tub. Ise the bare floor atachment and go over the whole thing. Also use a drier sheet and wipe the wals and stuff with it. It gets rid of the static and releases the hair.
Also if you can get your dog used to it we had a dog that loved to be vacumend. It got more hair than brushing did.
We have two German Shepherd mixes, and feel your pain! We follow the same advice that Victoria W gave, but we also use the Furminator de-shedding brush weekly (not as much in winter) to cut down on the amount both big boys shed, which results in less hair in the tub at bathtimes.
When you vacuum the floor, vacuum the dog. Put on that little brush attachment & brush your dog with it. The vacuum will suck up the extra fur. Good luck!

I wish I had an answer for you but alas, I don't. We have two shelties and they shed all year round.
I am SO sick of picking dog hair off myself and my family. I joke that I am just going to start vacuuming the dogs. One thing I have found that does work for clothing and any fabric like the furniture is one of those cheapie dollar store felt lint "brushes" I was amazed how well it takes dog hair off fabric. WAY better than the lint rollers. Anyway..Sometimes I think that it's just the sacrifice we pay for our love of fuzzy faces! Good luck
Try using a sheedding comb to remove the majority of loose hair before bathing.
I always spray it all off the sides, wait for it to dry and then vacuum it out of the tub.
I also love my Furminator brush! They are a bit pricey, but they do the job so it's worth it to me!
I have handheld shower heads in each of our baths. When I give our German Shepherd a bath/shower...there are copious amounts of hair left in the bottom of the shower, and stuck to the walls where she has rubbed against it.
I just spray the walls down (of the shower) with the handheld and let it all accumulate toward the drain then pick it up in a wet soggy wad and toss it in the trash.
Ooh.. I didn't think to mention the furminator brush! We have one too and our GSD LOVES it! It really is amazing how much it helps... and she absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVES it!
Just a quick hint I haven't seen mentioned---- I was just reading that giving dogs a small amount of olive oil a day(1-2 tsp) improves their coat and skin, cutting way down on the shedding. They get dry skin in winter, just like us, and the oil really helps. Good luck.
a removable shower head! take the flow of water around the shower walls/tub and i bet it will help get them down into the drain - assuming you have a strainer on/over the drain...i swear by mine! (it's also very helpful for shaving!)
