My finace and I are expecting our second child, a little girl, at the end of July at which time our son will only be 11 months old. We are looking at what would be the best stroller for our situation. WE really like the Graco Quattro Duo but I wanted to get some opinions from other moms who have kids so close in age.
I also recommend a side-by-side, having had that and the tandem in the past. Once you have a couple you like you should go to the North Dallas Mothers of Twins Club Twice as Nice sale that is coming up on Sat, Apr 4, 8:30-12:30. As you might imagine there will be quite a few double strollers there at great prices. You can also find brand new -> like new clothing, equipment, toys, and just about anything else you need for your new baby (and your son!).
My two kiddos are 14 months apart, my baby girl is now 10 weeks old. We have the Zooper Tango...and I LOVE this stroller. It is a side by side that fits through doorways and all. It is compatible with most infant carriers and is available online. We found a good deal on amazon.com. It is extremely well-built, folds easily. Good luck on baby #2! It's hectic, but super fun!

My advice is to go to Lone Star Baby in Frisco and "test drive". They have all the models as well as all of the infant carriers. I thought I wanted the Graco front and back, but I took my 1 year old in and grabbed their Chicco carseat (which my coming son will be in) and test drove. I ended up LOVING the Peg Perago Aria 60/40 side by side. It is so easy to maneuver! I would go test drive so you don't spend money on one you're not sure about. Hope this helps!

I personally love our Baby Trend Sit N Stand Deluxe from Target!!!! versatile for when they get older and works great when they are younger. Here is a response to doublse stroller that got 39 replies and my experience with the double strollers is a reply to this one as well. Great info!http://www.mamasource.com/request/9130405621051424769
Oh, and I can on-hand steer that thing in stores and make sharp corners! Had the Jeep tandem one and I was lucky if I didn't take out an ilse endcap when I made turns. I also have the Jeep side by side umbrella stroller for short trips and love it as well, but its more for when your baby is sitting up on her own and not for use with a baby seat

Congratulations on the new baby! Mine are spaced further apart, but this is the stroller I got. It's kind of heavy, but not as heavy as most other double strollers. I LOVE it and would definitely recommend it.

WOW!! You are going to be just like me... My kids are only 10 1/2 months a part. It was crazyyyyy at the begining, but now that they are almost 4 and almost 3 things are getting a litle bit better :) We have the Graco Quattro Duo stroller and we love it so mchhhh!! It is very strong, easy to fold, makes all the small curves in stores, both seats recline, has a great space under it and it is very pretty and SAFE. I hope you are enjoying shooping for a Double Stroller :) Good Luck! A. P.

KP,
I absolutely LOVE the Graco Quattro Duo. I shopped and looked around before purchasing and I am so glad I decided to get it. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 5 month old. My older daughter can pick to ride in the front or the back. It is SO easy to switch the baby carrier (also Graco) from the back to the front. If my older daughter rides in front, she has two little cup holders (too small for most of her sippy cups, but not a deal breaker for me). If she sits in back, the seat is higher so she can see over the baby carrier. It will also be fun when they get older. The one thing it does not allow that other double strollers do is that they do not face each other. GOOD LUCK! Congrats on number 2!!

I think a stroller company need to look at all these responses and come up with one that can actually meet all the needs you have! I "test drove" the Graco people are recommending. I really liked it, but it weighs like 900 pounds! It doesn't fold up very small either. I ended up getting a combi front and back double. It's light and folds up well, but it is so dang hard to push when my 2 year old is in it (in front). The problem with the side by side ones is you usually can't put an infant carrier in them. The sit 'n stand one is not a good idea if your kid likes to run away from you. And the Bob and Phil & Ted are like 500 bucks. Ughh!

I've also been looking at double strollers. I looked at Target and saw the Baby Trend Deluxe Sit and Stand stroller, which is only $169.99. It can be a regular double stroller that converts to a sit and stand later if you wish after your son is older. The car seat can go in front or back, and it wasn't too heavy. It had good reviews on the website I looked at, and is reasonably priced. I'm still doing research, but so far, this is the one I like!

If you are even the slightest bit active, I think you should look at the BOB Revolution Duallie. It is my only double stroller and it goes from jogging at the park to walking around the mall. My boys are 16 months apart.
(The Graco you are talking about is VERY heavy and difficult to push.)
Good Luck!

You should certainly check out the Just Between Friends sell in Arlington. There should be several double strollers to view and possibly purchase. Check out the website at:

I know you are asking about a stroller (mine are 17 mos apart), but I would suggest you get a sling, at first. Younger babies may not like a lot of the strollers that have been suggested because they are not supportive enough. So if you can wait until you make the double stroller purchase, you may have more options avaliable to you.

My kids are sixteen months apart. When they were babies, I had the Graco tandem stroller and a side by side umbrella stroller. I hated the side by side because it was hard to fit through doorways and my son could pull out my daughters pacifier while sitting next to her. There were no trays for the side by side which made entertaining my son a bit harder. I'm not sure where you live, but there is a consignment sale coming up in Mesquite. It's called Just Between Friends. They always have double strollers for a lot less. You might think about shopping there first so you're not out a ton of money. The thing I learned most with my babies is that each one is different. My son liked a particular bottle and nipple, but my daughter did not and so on. It's a game of trial and error!

I love my "Sit and Stand." It comes in a deluxe model that has a removable back seat so you can use a seat now and when your bigger one is 3 she can ride on the back.
www.strollerdepot.com has videos of the strollers so you can see how eay they open and close.

My kids are 26 months apart and I searched for a double stroller forever. I ended up with the MacClaren side by side 'twin techno'. I like the side by side much better because they are easier to push, both kids can recline, and no fighting about who sits in front. The stroller I selected won't let me put the baby car seat in it, but that's ok with me. Another reason I selected this stroller is because when it is collapsed, it doesn't take the entire trunk up. It folds up pretty small and takes up less space in the trunk than my single Graco did.
Another thing that I did was take the older kid in the single stroller and carry the baby in a carrier/wrap/sling for a while (this works really well for when they are teeny tiny).
Good luck to you!

I love the Graco Quattro Tour Duo! It has a fabulous turning radius and is easy to open/close with one hand. I bought mine online at http://www.albeebaby.com/double-strollers.html and it was SIGNIFICANTLY less expensive than in the stores, and it arrived at my front door with free shipping. We tried them out in the stores first. The only downside I can think of for this stroller is that the front seat (where you'd put your 11mo-old son) does not have a tray -- it has 2 cups at the ends of the arm rests, one sized for a sippy cup and one sized to hold a snack... But, at 11 mos, your son will probably be very adept at using a Snack Trap that you can hook to the shoulder straps using link-a-doos. I hope this helps!

I have a Chicco double. It is my second one and I love it. The company stands behind their product. The first one the frame broke on one of the seats and I called the company and they replaced it with a newer upgraded product. It is light, the seats recline, has a cup holder and pockets behind each seat. Folds up like an umbrella stroller. The only down side...it is hard to get to underneath baskets if the seats are reclined.

I would reccomend the Phil & Ted's stroller. Almost all of my friends here with 2 kids or more have one. If you want a side by side then the Maclren's are very nice, I have a single and LOVE it.

I know ther are a millions brands but my fav thing to look for are front and back double stroller not side by side. The side by side do not fit down isles etc... Also look for one that can hold the infant car seat carrier. Nothing worse then waking up the baby just to put them in the stroller. Also, with more kids look for more room. I was surprised to see that several strollers can hardly hold a diaper bag. I also like the 'mom' perks like cup holder and a pockets for phone etc.... Last thing.... Check out the wheels. I need heavy duty wheels to trek thru soccer fields etc...

I agree with Danielle--get a side by side--they're much easier to use from what I've read and heard about front-back strollers! My first two are twelve months apart and a friend whose boys are ten months apart recommended this stroller to us: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3082737. It was a total lifesaver. My sister-in-law bought her own after borrowing ours and a neighbor has the same one. This is just a bare-bones double umbrella that won't take an infant car seat. If you spend a little bit more, you can get one that takes an infant car seat. I think Combi makes one that looks nice http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3375005. The front-back models can be very cumbersome to push and bulky to store but they've probably improved in the last few years. Also, my double umbrella didn't have any storage baskets, which was annoying at times but we'd just put a tote bag over the handles. It definitely fit through doorways, was easy to push (even in our sidewalk-less neighborhood) and super easy to fold up. The baby in a carrier and the 11-month old in a single stroller is easy too. You could borrow a nicer one or maybe find one used, or just get one of those $10 umbrella strollers and throw a tote bag over the handles. It's an adventure, but my now three and four-year-olds are best friends. Message me if I can help with anything else. Good luck with everything!

Hi! I too am having my second baby soon and need a double stroller. I have done all the research and the best one so far is the Graco Quattro Duo Tour. Its the newer model with 2 cup holders in front, not a tray. I am planning on buying it soon! I went up to a baby superstore and tried out a bunch and really liked the Graco because it looks like a single stroller, very compact. I also read tons of reviews online. Hope this helps!
