My daughter got dry eraser marker on her new school dress. I put spray n wash on it along with ALL tonight. I will need to wash it soon. Any idea on how to get it out? The dress is pink and 100% cotton. Thanks!

Rubbing alcohol would be my best guess. Just keep trying stuff and rinsing it with each application til something works!

Try putting alcohol on it. I know that works with pen ink. Let it set on there wet for sefveral hours or even a couple days. You might have to reapply the alcohol to keep it wet and see if it dissolves the ink. You can use rubbing alcohol, vodka or other clear drink with alcohol or even hairspray with a lot of alcohol in it like aqua net. Good luck

My daughter got dry erase marker on an outfit a few years ago and I googled "how to remove dry erase marker from clothes." Anyway, one of the results was to use dry erase marker board cleaner. This often comes with the pack of dry erase markers. You can buy it at an office supply store. It got most of it out. I would try it before you wash it.

I know this works on pen ink, but I'm not sure about marker. It may be worth a try though. Put some GOJO Handcleaner on the stain and brush it into the fabric. I use an old toothbrush. It will not hurt the fabric, or remove the color. The handcleaner will remove several other types of stains also. I keep a container in my laundry room. I have also found that hairspray will remove ink, but again not sure on how it will work with marker.

Good Luck!!

Hi L.,
My son got black dry erase marker on my good pink dress a few years ago. I had it dry cleaned and they could not get it out. I figured it would be a loss so I tried everything I could think of to get it out. Nothing worked. I kept it thinking someday I might find a new product to get it out so I'm really interested in your responses. Hopefully someone knows the secret. If all else fails, is it something you could put an iron on over? They have some really cute flowers, butterflies, etc.

My son colored on my new couch with one. I put white toothpaste (plain kind - just cheap white) and left it for a while - google said to leave it for about 15 min - I was cleaning and came back to it 3hrs later and wiped it away with a damp cloth. The blue marker came out of my orange colored patio couch and it even is textured - WOW!

I had just worked it in a little with an old tooth brush and let it sit, and then the stain just wiped away. I hope it works for you!

Rubbing alcohol. That is why hairspray works on ink the alcohol int it. Soak it and scrub it in pure alcohol no water. It will come out.

Hi L.,

I own a business that has the best laundry products. You can't get them in the store, but I am willing to drop off some samples to see if it helps. COnsumer Reports has ranked our SA8 brand #1. Let me know if you want to try it. The company recommends a few step process for ink, but I can bring you the samples you need. P. - ____@____.com
