When I was in Dallas, I looked into going to Jellystone in Canyon Lake. It looked good for my 3 year old, but just never got around to it after I got pregnant.
We are interested in doing a family camp. We live in Austin, Texas but would drive a bit to go to a great camp. Are there any great places to take the kids over Thanksgiving or Christmas?

If you are looking for an established camp with cabins, meals and programs, you could try either of the YMCA camps in Colorado - Camp Shady Brook in Southern Colorado (ppymca.org) and the Estes Park Center in Northern Colorado (ymcarockies.org).. It will be chilly this time of year, but a great time to play in the snowy forest by day and snuggle up by the fire with a hot chocolate by night.
When I think of Family Camp, I think of going with a church. So, if you're Christian I would contact a big, local church and see what camps they go to. Seventh Day Adventist have awesome camps.
But is that what you meant by Family Camp? Or do you mean going camping with the family?
My personal favorite in the Austin area is Pedernales Falls.
I have heard nothing but good things about Cloudcroft, NM. It's up in the mountains, so it would be pretty chilly, but it is BEAUTIFUL from what I've heard.
I have been to (and LOVE) Pagosa Springs, CO. I've never done the hot springs, but I imagine that would be something worth hitting up in the winter. :) Again, it's mountains, so keep that in mind! :) http://www.visitpagosasprings.com/things-to-do/activities...
