Hi C.,
I hope I can help !
I am a professional baby / child & family photographer.
I have many mom's who call me for Father's day portraits.
I can make you a gift certificate, or you can schedule a session now, and you still have time to make a print and frame it as a gift for Dad.

C., every year we give my husband a family membership to the Bronx Zoo. It's something fun that we can do as a family, he doesn't have to shell out money whenever we want to go to the zoo, and it keeps me from having to think of two "new" gift ideas in a row, since his birthday is two weeks after Fathers Day.

Good luck!

My husband is a big fisherman and sport freak! A yankee's fan since he was a kid! This is the last yr. at the old station.
I am getting a couple of tickets for a game. Our son will be
11 yrs. old this month....so kind of killing two will one stone!
My father has everything or if he needs something...he goes out and gets it.
I have made him a neat treasure chest for his desk. Its velvet
lined with an according album with all the picture of us kids, and grand kids. I scrapbook. He's where I get the love
of pictures from! It's what we treasure most!

Good luck
J.

Hi C.!

It all depends on what your husband is into (i.e. sports, games, etc). My husband LOVES to golf so one year I got him a divit(sp) tool with a picture of my daughter on it. He LOVED it. He doesn't have an office otherwise I would have done what a great friend of mine did. Her husband is also a big golfer so she dressed her daughter up in a golf outfit (collared shirt, skort) and had fake golf clubs and other accessories and had professional pictures taken. I may do something else with Golf this year but we'll see. I will see the suggestions that you receive :o)

Good luck!

Try to think in "guy language." Different planet altogether.

Don't know what you're guy is like. So for mine, he wants Yankee tickets he can enjoy with his father. And for Fathers day itself, he's hoping he and his dad can go upstate to meet up with my brother in law and go fishing. Seems a little odd to me (his first fathers day) to want to 'celebrate' the essence of who he is independent of his role as husband/father, but hey...

I don't think I'll be able to help myself though but to throw in a collage frame of pictures of him and baby through the past couple months.

Good luck!

For my husbancd's first Father's Day I made a book on Shutterfly.com of pictures of him with my daughter. I wrote a story to go with it from my daughter's point of view. It is still read frequently today! Another thing I have given him is a recordable frame (found at Radio Shack) with pictures of the kids and their voices recorded saying "I love you daddy" and "da-da" for his desk at work!

C.,
My husband and I tend to go pretty inexpensive for Mother's Day and Father's Day. The best gift, in my opinion, is time spent. First, we give each other a day to ourselves. My son is now 4 years old, and on the Saturday before Mother's Day, my husband and son had a guy's day out, while I got to do whatever I wanted on my own. It is such a treat for me! Then, on Mother's Day, we went out for brunch, and I spent time with my Son all day while my husband did the laundry. For Father's Day, I'll do something similar for him. I hope this gives you some ideas.

If he has a desk at work you could get a picture of your kids taken for him...or a digital frame.

Depending on the ages of your kids take him to mini golf/bowling/movies...something you can all do together.

Give him 2 tickets to his fav team or concert....he can take you or a buddy.

If he likes to be outside in the yard you can make those handprint stones of you kids.

If he's a sportsman a giftcard to Bass pro's/Dicks...or a parks pass...

This year we are going to go camping. My husband loves to camp but hates having to get everything ready for the trip, so I'm going to do it all with the help of the kids and just go.

On another note: I am a photographer and am offering mini sessions at a park of your choice to capture your children just as they are. You can visit my website at www.amyfallasphotography.com

Take care and good luck.

This may be small but for my husband last year I made a hard cover book of pictures through an online photo site(shutterfly). I put pictures of the kids, his family and myself on vacation, sports ,etc. They let you add different backgrounds to each page and fun comments on each page. He really liked it.

Best gify I got my husband was on eyear we did a Paint-A-Pot. It's a place on Long Beach Island you pick out the unfinished ceramics and paint them then they fire them for you and you pick it up when it's done. It was a plate I painted our family on it and our names and we love you. He loves it. It's something personal and unique one-of-a-kind and done by you! Maybe there is a place like that near you?!
