My 8 yr old wanted me to paint her fingernails, so like a good Mommy I put her hand on my knee and low and behold got BRIGHT PINK nail polish on my beige pants, my FAVORITE capri's!!! HELP!

When I took remover to try to get it out all I did was make it worse and spread it around. OY!!

Anyone have suggestions?

Solumel and Prespot should get it out...I use solumel to take my polish off, prespot would just help it be "stronger" for the laundry. They both are very safe - no toxins, chemicals or fumes!

Good luck!!

Assuming the Capri's are cotton blend, I second the nail polish remover. Blot Blot Blot til it is gone.

My daughter's friends spilled dark brown nail polish on my white carpet and blotting with nail polish remover got it out with no damage. You can't even see it now.

Good luck.

Okay, a couple of years ago my son spilled RED fingernail polish all over my mother-in-law's WHITE carpet and Ralph Lauren Comforter/bed linens while they were out of town and we were staying at their house. At the time, my brother-in-law worked for Boeing and had given some SD-20 to my in-laws. It got EVERY BIT of the fingernail polish out! If you can get your hands on some SD-20, go for it, but because it is industrial strength, I am not sure you can purchase just one can. It is not available for retail purchase, that I am aware of, so you would have to look on the internet. However, the one thing that really helped, even with using Spot Shot and some of the other crazier ideas people passed on to me, was laying saran wrap over the stain after spraying it with cleaner. Place something heavy, like a heavy book, on top of the saran wrap-covered stain and let it work for a few hours. Then blot and repeat until the stain is gone. This keeps the stain wet, allowing the cleaner to work much better. If I remember correctly, the fingernail polish remover was the next best effective, and then Spot Shot. Even using the SD-20, I think I spent a couple of days working on the stains! They did come out, though so good luck!

Take paper towell and place behind the fabric where the stain is. Next take a cotton ball or paper towell with nail polish remover and BLOT the polish out. This works really well. Launder the item as usual
