Hey there, I just read your email and my thought as I was reading was "pull up, pull up, pull up....." but the I read your resistance to them. I completely understand where you are coming from, but I had to leard they are not my enemy! They can help without hindering any progress made. My daughter had been potty trained for almost 6 months and she wears a pull up only at night. The catch is, she NEVER pees in it. It is for her own peace of mind. She used to wear one at nap too, but she has kind of gone to "quiet time" now so if she has to go she is still awake. I have friends whose kids still do go potty in them during the night and I know that to some of us it is like a crutch. But, it sounds that at nap time your son your son just needs a little back up. He will probably get over it with time like you said. He may never even use them, like my daughter, but feel safer just having it on (and if he does use one for a couple months or so it will save on his sadness and your laundry!). I hope this helps and makes sense!
