Make an appointment with Daryn at I forget the name of the salon he's at now. I've been going to him for about 10 years even though it takes me nearly 45 minutes to get there. Sooooo worth it for a great cut. The number is ###-###-####. He's right 'in' the parking area off LaSalle Road. It costs about 50 bucks (which I think is a lot) but it's kind of like a great cut is worth that and more! Especially when it *really* needs to be done....

Ask for Rinaldo and let him know that M. referred you. I have long hair and I have never had such a hair dresser when it comes to respecting that I want to keep it long. He does a wonderful job of cleaning the edges with out taking off to much.
On a side note you may also want to check out West Hartford Yoga which is close by to Rinaldo's salon. WHY is a vibrant active studio. I recommend Shankara (again feel free to let him know I recommended him) as one of the best instructors although they have a number of great teachers their. I have a friend who works at a salon in West Hartford Center called G.W. Crane. Her name is Gretchen and she is great. She has cut my hair many times. She is also a mom with two kids. ALso, my sister's father-in-law owns a salon in Hartford on Pearl Street, called Headline. He has won countless international competitions and gives a KILLER RAZOR CUT!! I know a wonderful stylist in a fantastic location in West Hartford. Her name is Karen Roche, and her place is called The Inner Kur (www.theinnerkur.com). It's more than just a salon, though. The Inner Kur is a women's wellness studio on LaSalle Road (upstairs in the Coldwell Banker building, across the street from Starbucks), and the phone number for the hair salon is ###-###-####. It's also a yoga studio, and there's nutrition, wellness, exercise/fitness classes, circuit training, massage, and a host of other offerings. It's an amazing place, and the feeling you get when you walk in the door is that this is a place where you can really feel comfortable and be well taken care of. It's also not outrageously priced, which is certainly a consideration in West Hartford!
