Halloween Costume at Work- JFF

Who out there is allowed to wear costumes to work and who does?

I've been a witch (more like "realistic" witch than Hollywood black-hat and broom witch) and I was a character from a childhood game.

I don't know if I'm going to dress up this year, it is kind of fun to get out of the mundane of every day and do something different. I always do homemade cosutmes (I've never bought one, now that I think about it).

What can I do next?

I always try to dress up at work. Last year I was Mommy Dearest. I've also been the Tooth Fairy, Peter Pan, a dead Barbie, Dorothy, and Rubiks Cube. I have no shame in being a Halloween nerd. I'm seriously thinking about being Medusa this year...
A long time ago, there was a guy I worked with who was a drag queen (for real - not just Halloween), and he wore his full getup to work. It was memorable!

Yes, we can dress up. We usually dress up as a team. We've done doctors/nurses, mechanics, cereal killers, the 60's, sleepover, bikers, etc. This year, we are going as Sundrop girls. I was going to, but I don't like spending money on stuff for something I'll only wear once, so I'm just going to show up in sweats.

Nope. I've always worked in an office setting, and costumes would be a bit weird. My last company had a big adults-only halloween party on the weekend and people dressed up for that.

My office is big into Halloween! Last year I was Princess Leia (sp?). Very easy with an bun-headband I bought online and a big white terry-cloth robe. It was hit! A young African-American guy came in as MC Hammer and stole the show. Hilarious! Not sure what I will do this year....

we aren't allowed to dress in costumes but we have dressed as each other. Like our GM is short but buff. Our sales manager is short but thin. So the sales guy stuff his work shirt with towels to create muscles and wore the GM's name tag. We had a manager who often wore her hair in 2 buns but more like horns and a specific makeup style. So I did that and wore her nametag.

Just a funny thought: Go as a stay-at-home mom... the stereotypical pajama bottoms, baggy t-shirt with food stains, slippers, crazy hair and bags under your eyes?! lol (NOT that I think we all look like this.. just me 3 out 7 days of the week! hehehe)......

My last 2 jobs I could dress up.

My favorite costume was when I dressed up like a Guitar Hero character. It was cool because it was so punk rocker. It was especially fun picking up my son from daycare while dressed like that.

If we want to wear a costume, we have tomake a donation to the office United Way fund.
So I don't wear a costume to work. I prefer to choose my own charitable donations, not have them chosen for me by my employer.

My husband went as a "red hatter" one year . Not sure if you know the club . It is a group of senior women and they wear purple and red and always a red hat . It was hilarious !

Yes we can dress up at work, but it's only been the last couple if years that me and the other girls in the office have dressed up. Last year we were the Nerd Hurd (we work in accounting) and all dressed up as nerds. This year we are all going to be super Heros. I am going to be Captain Money Bags with a cape made of fabric with money printed all over it. We have fun with it and now everyone looks forward to what the accounting "trolls" are going to dress up as. Next year maybe we'll dress up as trolls and live up to our nickname.

I think we're allowed to, no one has ever said otherwise. Most don't. I'm not a big costume-type person, but this year I may put this huge bloody gash on my cheek. It's AWESOME! So realistic. Bought a few on Etsy a few years ago and they always go over really well w/ the trick-or-treaters.
