I was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of, or used Manjakani which is a natural gel and pill used to help tighten the loose muscles after delivering a baby? I know about the kegel exercises and I do them, just also looking for a natural product maybe a cream or pill that can also help with getting my body back to where it was? Any advice?

What can I do next?

No, I can't say I have ever heard of it. However, I used the kegels and they worked fine.
I know some women use some sort of Vitamin E oil prior to delivery to help with the stretching to try an avoid tears, but that doesn't sound like what you are talking about. One interesting thing, you might keep in mind though, if it is worrying you... it was easier the second time. My 2nd delivery went faster (admission to the hospital thru birth in less than 4 hours, while my first at the same stage at admission it took more like 6 hours). Our 2nd baby was a little smaller (7 lb 6oz instead of 8 lb 12 oz) also. With the first child, it seemed like (I hate to be gross or to much info) my insides were "saggy" for at least a week after delivery.. walking around the block was uncomfortable even. With our 2nd, I felt like I could have run a marathon before even leaving the hospital. The kegels seemed almost unnecessary!
Now, my babies were a little farther apart than yours (just 3 weeks shy of 3 years, delivery to delivery).. so I don't know if that played any part. But, if you are expecting things to be worse than the first go round, that isn't necessarily the way it will go. You just never know. Labor was completely different sensations (all natural both times, but the first I felt like menstrual cramps and back pain, the 2nd time it felt more cervical bone pain - completely different). But labor was easier and faster, and so was the recovery...

So even though everything could go just like the first and you might expect a longer recovery b/c you are 2 yrs older now, that isn't necessarily what will happen. So don't stress out if you can't locate this manjakani (ointment I'm guessing?). (of course if you can and it works that's great!) But, you may not even feel the need to bother with it when it comes time...
Congrats on number two...
God bless you!

T.,
I've never heard of Manjakani, but I'm a physical therapist and work in a clinic that offers women's health services for gynecolgical problems such as loose muscles and incontinence. The only thing that can tighten muscles is exercise, such as kegels, many times per day for several weeks. There is no magic pill that can do the trick. If you are having trouble with this, then I recommend you seek professional health with a physical therapist that specializes in this area. Your gynecologist should be able to refer you to someone in your area. Good luck and be patient. These muscles take months to tighten.

It is going to take two to three years to get your entire body back to "normal". But this only works if you have a personal trainer OR you breastfeed. Your body will usually not resemble "normal" for a while. I did not have any curve to my torso until sometime after a few months. I did achieve my pre-pregnancy weight when my DD was about two years old, but never regained my flat tummy... But I am okay with this! I wanted to be a mother and know this was to happen and I like the changes I made in my body. Having kids so close is hard on the body and I hope God with bless you with strength and grace and a beautiful new baby!

p.s. Jesus was breastfed! Think what his mother went through and how she felt.

Hi T.,
I have not heard of the Manjakani, but I have been using the Winsor Pilates disc that comes with some workout videos.
You can buy the disc for $20!It's great for those target areas that you are talking about!
I tell everyone about it because I have lost about 6 dress sizes as well! It tightens the core, and it's great for lower back pain, which is the main reason why I bought it.
You can go to winsor pilates.com. Daisy Fuentes is the spokes model. They will try to make you order more dvds, but you can send them back before 30days and you won't be charged.
I do a 5 minute workout right before bed. 100 crunches with the arms and butox, and 30 sit- ups. I'm telling ya, it's WORTH checking out! I have had alot of people notice of my weight loss! And I have been able to get into some outfits that I have not been able to wear in like 7 years!

I never heard of this product but I just did a quick search on the internet and there are articles about this natural remedy. It's a gel that you can use as a lubricant with condoms; it's safe for breastfeeding moms but not advised to use if you are pregnant. Just type in "manjakani gel" and you'll find some sites to order it from.

Hey T.!

There is no substitute for exercise. Kegels are great by themselves, but most women tighten the wrong muscles when doing them. Ben-wa balls are made for strengthening those particular muscles. I sell products for women in my business and have literature regarding kegels in relation to childbirth and aging.
Creams, lotions and pills might work somewhat, but without the backup of exercise, how long will they last and how long will you have to take them?
Email me if you'd like the information.

Because I did Kegels and yoga before during and after.
Because I did entirely natural childbirth and used my bodies muscles as intended instead of letting a doc pull the baby out for me.
And because I exclusively breastfeed ON DEMAND
I was back to my original 108 pounds exactly 3 months after the birth of each of my daughters.

God and nature know the way, not docs and meds!
