Have You Actually Tried Anything from Pinterest??

I love pinterest. I pin stuff all the time to my boards but I've never actually tried anything. I'm so un-crafty, and I never feel adventurous enough to go for it and try something new! I really would like to try some of the DIY stuff for the home. I like some of the unique concepts. My girls' babysitter has been trying recipes from pinterest and she has had some great luck.

What have you tried? Did you love it?

What can I do next?

I to am the same way. I was pinning stuff all the time but never trying anything. So I started a binder and went to all the stuff I had pinned got the recipes and DIY copied and pasted them onto a Word document. Now that I have done that I've actually used a lot of the recipes and some of the cleaning stuff I found. So now everytime I pin stuff I copy and paste the directions and print it out and add it to my book!!

I love pinterest! I am not crafty either, but I have completed several projects that are pinterest inspired. I've also made tons of bath and beauty products that I absolutely love.

Go for it! If I can do DIY stuff, then I'm positive that you can! ;)

Yes. It's just like trying any new craft/recipe. Sometimes it works sometimes not so much. I just tried filling up balloons by mixing baking soda and vinegar - they do not float (not totally surprised). I've also painted wine glasses with glow in the dark paint and some few others I'm not thinking of right now. It's fun to take on a little craft here and there :)

I have! I even have a pinboard on there of stuff I've done! I have found the most incredible soft pretzle bites ever invented, made some really cool Christmas crafts, and found some great cleaners. I've also found some crappy stuff.
My friends and I had a pinterest night where we all made food we found on the site. It was so much fun and we ate like kings!

yes I have. I try to pin more often from blogs I follow so I have the actual source. If you repin from someone else click on the link to make sure it will take you to a source or tutorial to make sure you know what you will be doing. Or make sure the pic provides you enough info to do it yourself. There are for sure more things pinned that I have not done than what I have but thats ok. Someday will come!

I have tried some of the recipes I have pinned and they all turned out really good. I've done of the art and craft things for kids with my daughter that were fun and I did make a door wreath for summer out of those little cocktail drink umbrellas. :) Otherwise, it's been tough, since I've been back to work full-time and I just don't have as much free time as I used to!

I have made some recipes...some have worked out great, others ...waa...waaaa. Not so great. But I like trying.

As far as crafty things and tips. I have tried bunches. I am a daycare provider so the thing is a curriculum dream! My stuff is sorta organized...Feed Me, Drink me, Word me, etc...then all these daycare related themes (holidays, bugs, fall, winter, etc). And I have done bunches of them.

Loving the Pinterest!!

Tonight I made dinner off of one of the pins I found.. it was SO good.
It was spaghetti baked inside of bread. You thaw out a loaf of frozen bread dough ( don't let it rise) spread it out on a cookie sheet and put the spaghetti and sauce you have already made in the middle of it. Then cut little slits on the sides and "braid' the dough over the spaghetti then put butter and garlic salt on the top and bake it for 20 mins. I have never seen my kids clean their plates so fast!

I also make some cookies and cream cookies I found over the weekend. Those were ok.. I wasn't a huge fan of them and neither was 3 out of the 5 kids. But my dad, husband and 2 kids did like them. So that one was 50/50. I don't think I will make them again even though they sounded really good! It had white chocolate chips, crushed oreo cookies and cookie and cream pudding in it.. but they were really dense and not alot of flavor.

I found a really cute idea for making a flower bed border out of used tires and some spray paint. That turned out great around my grandma's old claw foot tub that I had for the center of my flower bed.

we used old pallets as the base of our deck we built.. that worked perfectly! plus its a great way to recycle :)

The first time I went on Pinterest, I was on there for SIX hours straight! But then I went back to some of the stuff I pinned and couldn't easily find it again so I decided instead of pinning it, to go to the link and actually copy and paste everything into a word doc so I knew that I actually HAD it! Well, again, that took HOURS to do! But I have it all. I only do easy recipes and now I'm getting into freezer cooking and OAMC. So I have 100's of pages of Word docs with this info. I'm trying to figure out an easy way to print it and keep it in a binder, like my own tried and true recipe book. But that is sort of overwhelming me right now but I do intend to do it eventually. =)

I have a board of only things I have tried and had success with. Lots of recipes (chile lime chicken enchiladas are my new addiction), practical things like ice packs, and some crafts. Of course some things are flops, like coloring my hair with oil pastels and painting the bottoms of my high heel shoes. But they were fun!

K.N.-- I agree, that BLT pasta was not good.

I have some great hits with a few recipes (penne w/roasted asparagus & balsamic butter and fresh corn & tomato salad come to mind, but I know there've been others) -- and a few misses (BLT pasta? yeah, not so much...). I've used a few of the gardening tips & they've helped. My daughter's done a couple of the crafty things, too, and our deck was much prettier for her "pinnings" at a recent party we had.

Not sure I'll ever use every idea I've pinned or liked, but I'm having fun picking and choosing my way around!

I've made quite a few of the recipes. My son's favorite is the chocolate cobbler. Last night I made chicken cordon Bleu pasta. It was heavenly! Last Christmas, I made name plaques for my son's 2 teachers, and they looked so good that 2 of their fellow teachers approached my son and asked how we did it! (He had them email me and I emailed them the link)

I LOVE to craft and cook. All the food at my birthday party was appetizers I found on Pintrest. They were a big hit! I have tried alot of other recipes that turned out good too.
We craft alot already and have alot of supplies. From Pintrest we tried the tshirt scarves and bracelets, big hit! We have had fun.
My daughter has had a great time on Pintrest. (15) But she does spend alot of time on the internet and not as much time making stuff.
I say start out with an easy recipe. Then venture into something else
Good Luck!

My 17 yr old daughter loves that site. I have yet to be on it.

She has done several crafty things that are cute and tried some neat recipes as well.

Before she goes to a babysitting job, she usually finds a fun craft and will take it along with her to do with the children for entertainment.

I have some really cute things she made for Christmas and Easter.

Totally! I've done a lot of the crafts... we just built that water fort thing out of PVC Pipe - that turned out well (but more expensive than the writer lead to believe)...

I find I pin things, but don't actually look at them. just the 'pin' itself.

I really do love that site though!

All the time, yes! I have to really limit my time on Pinterest, because I could seriously browse all day long. I love home organization the most and have tried several projects. :) I recently found a recipe for lemon cookies on a friend's board that was to die for - it involved crushed lemon candies and was SO delicious!

I have tried TONS of recipes, but only a few of the crafts. I deleted all my Pinterest boards a few months ago because it was an unhealthy addiction for me, and instead of actually DOING the cool things I was researching, I was spending HOURS a day researching them. I've got enough ideas to last me a few years :)
