Sounds like you received a lot of options. The only other I can think of is garage sales. Most people price the items to move.

I wonder if you call a place like planned parenthood, if they'd have a list of places to call for help?

Best of luck

I don't know if you're open to this, but the cheapest way to feed an infant is breastfeeding, and there are several support groups in the A2 area - www.llli.org. It would be a wonderful thing to do for your son and would stretch your budget at the same time.

Hi! Congratulations on your impending birth, and I certainly empathize with your situation. I have a couple of suggestions for you, 1st check out Freecycle.org.... they have them in many communities, most likely yours as well. You will sign up (free and easy), and then post for what you need, as well as looking at what others are giving away. Everything offered is free, though you may have to arrange to pick up whatever you may find. There are also wonderful finds at Salvation Army and Saint Vincent De Paul~ you may be quite surprised at what you'll find, though for the best results, go as often as possible, and find out which days they put out the newest arrivals. Good luck and best wishes sweetie~ Deb

i would look into the WIC program in your state. WIC will help you with not only prenatal nutrition, but they also will provide formula and food vouchers for nursing mothers. They will also provide breast pumps. They can also refer you to the Infant Crisis Unit. It's not as scary as the name presents itself. If your family hits under a certain gross annual salary, all these services are free. ICU will provide you with some clothing, but mostly with formula and diapers. In these hard times; that we all are having, there should be no shame in getting a little hand up along our way (especially pertaining to babies). Please look into it. It was was a tremendous help for our family.

The best thing you could do for you and baby is breastfeed. It is the best food for your new little sweetie and it is good for you too by contracting your uterus back to where it should be. If you are in need of free items...formula and bottles are EXTREMELY expensive. There is a place in Auburn Hills called Crossroads Pregnancy Center. They do have baby clothing, diapers, Mama clothing and some equipment. They did stop with some equipment like cribs and carseats for safety reasons. I believe it is all free. Congrats and all the best!

Have you tried the resale shops for the stroller and swing? The Funky Frog in Rochester has had them pretty cheap at times. Good Luck

If you have a Yahoo account, check on there. I live in IL, and when I searched Yahoo groups, there was a Dekalb County freecycle group here. Freecycle is a "yahoo group" in which members offer up items they no longer need, and ask for items they are in need of. It's kind of a way to keep recycling our goods rather than tossing them. That's where I got a lot of my baby things when #3 came around last year!! Just log onto yahoo.com, select groups. You should be able to search there. Try searching with just your city name or even the name of your county. You may be surprised as to what it finds.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help!!

Check and see if there is a pregnancy center close to where you live. They usually offer baby items and help. I think that you can also call 211 also. It is for Clinton, Eaton, Hillsdale, Ingham and Jackson counties. They will help you with finding help for things that you need.

Go to your local Pregnancy Aid type agency. These are agencies that help women who were not planning a pregnancy, but now are pregnant. They offer support to women who chose to continue a pregnancy rather than having an abortion. They work with donations, so the stuff they give out might not be new, but some of it is used by a baby for such a short time, it is almost new! Check Google for a Pregnancy aid type agency in or near your zip code. Good luck.

Post a request at www.freecycle.org. This group posts wants/needs and all items are free. You will have to pick up your items from the person giving, but other than that it is a great site.
