What to Do with Unused Baby Items

I was wondering what any of you have done with the old baby stuff you had? I have a highchair, excersaucer, and various toys, clothing (girl), and houshold items that I would like to get rid of soon. I am not into the consignment thing and would rather give it to a person who is in need of these types of items. Any suggestions or if you know someone that has fallen on hard times and could use these things let me know.
Thanks C.

There is a place here in Omaha called Emergency Pregnancy Services that helps out young single mothers with maternity clothing as well as clothes and diapers and pretty much anything a mom would need in raising a child. You could call there and see about making a donation of your things. There are a number of places here in town that do that sort of thing, but that is the only one I know of by name.

There is a yahoo group called freecycle. People give away everything from old dishes to furniture. You have to have a yahoo e-mail address but it's free. You then search for Freecycle and either your city or county.

Try checking with a local church to see if they know of anybody who is in need of those things. Do you know your neighbors? Maybe if you have a single mom that lives nearby that needs some baby stuff. I know my neighbor (who's a single mom) just found out she's pregnant again and had just gotten rid of all her stuff since her daughter was turning 4 and she didn't expect to have another.

Lidia house (women's shelter)
Lutheran family services have an immigration department that collects items for refugees that they bring into the country.

Both are found in the phone book

You could donate it to a women's shelter. They usually show up ther with nothing.

I am not sure where you are located but here in the Omaha area there are various consignment opportunities....ReRunsRFun and Kidzshoppe. There are a few stores open year round as well...Childrens Attic and Once Upon A Child.
