How Do Questions Get Deleted on Mamapedia? Thought It Wasn't Possible to Delete.

So I went to my 'My answers' section to see if a mom had updated her 'So what happened' section. I rarely do this, but this post really bothered M.. It was about a mom of 2 girls dating a guy with a son and wanted to wean him off his dad because he was getting all the attention that she and her daughters "deserved". I couldn't beleive she could even think that way. My advise to her(like many others) was to stay away from that family. I was curious to know if she had any updates to her post but I don't see that post anymore. I thought it was not possible to delete questions on mamapedia? It doesn't fall into any categories which would cause mamapedia itself to remove it. I am wondering how the mom deleted that question. Do you think she deleted her account and her question also got deleted? Does it work that way? Well, whatever she has decided hope it's in the good interest of that little boy.

What can I do next?

The only way a post can be deleted is by the admins and for violating the rules. It is possible that she reported all the "mean" answers so when the admins hit it they decided the post itself was flaming and removed it.

That question was a divorced mom's worst nightmare! I am lucky, the woman my ex is dating treats my kids better than my ex does. To see someone pretty much saying he needs to ditch his son more and pay attention to M. and my daughters, lord, I am not sure how I managed to be as nice as I was.

Someone gets their knickers in a twist and clicks 'Report this' which is located in a box under the question. Actually it takes several reporting a question for it to get pulled.

If she went off on specific people in a very offensive way in her SWH, then the moderators would delete the whole question. Probably what happened.

MP will delete in some cases IF reported. However, I have seen in some cases that MP is most definitely biased......... they pick and choose what THEY want deleted. Some will disagree, but I have seen this now more than a few times..

People "delete" questions by going through and putting X's or periods...to have the post totally removed? That's a monitor/admin issue.

The post was most likely reported - I remember the question but didn't answer it because it was just insane (my opinion) and there was no answer that she would actually listen to (again - my opinion).

If it got nasty - she could have reported responses she didn't like or felt like they were flaming....so if the post is GONE - well - then it got reported and the monitors felt it was flaming or violated some rule.

If you responded to the post, you should be able to find it by clicking on "questions and answers" then "my answers" . If it isn't there than there must have been something Mamapedia didn't like and pulled it.

There was some pronouncement not too long ago that Mamapedia would no longer be pulling posts at the rate they did in the past so I am surprised that it was pulled.

She didn't delete. She edited. Big difference. The thread is stil there.

Now, I have seen that people did get their own threads removed. One lady was upset about something (I can't remember what) and wrote another thread fussing about it. After she read all the answers (and back then, the ladies were actually more civil in their responses), she came back on a separate thread and apologized, and said that she had asked MP to remove her thread. And it was gone.

However, that's not what you are talking about. The thread is still there. We don't know WHY this lady removed her question. Maybe she saw the wisdom in the answers and will be nicer to this kid. Maybe she can't stand the criticism and doesn't want any more comments.

I hope it's the first one.

Members can't delete, but MP can.
If it offensive, a solicitation for your business, etc.
