My daughter left crayons in the backseat of my car without my knowledge. To my horror, the crayons melted into the cloth upholstery. This is a brand new car! Could anyone please give me some advice on how to get the melted wax out of the seats? Thanks so much.
You can try to melt it off with an iron and paper bag or paper towels, but I don't know if that would make the color soak into the fabric more or less. You could also try ice. If you get the wax really cold and use a dull knife, plastic might work, and chip it off. I don't know how to get the color off. When you get it off make sure it's all gone or the wax may stain the clothing of whomever is sitting on that part of the seat.
A brown bag or towel over the wax and an iron to melt it. The bag ot towels will soak it up. I've known people that have done it on their rugs and furniture inside I'm pretty sure it would work in your car.
I've never dealt with melted crayon but I think it would be the same as with a candle that melted on the carpet. Scrape off as much as you can. Cover the spot with a brown paper bag and go over it with a heated iron. The bag will soak up the remaining wax.
