LAVA soap is great! It's in a red wrapper and often found at WalGreens & Winn Dixie!
Good Luck,

Help! My 17 month old and 3 year old discovered a puddle of pinetree sap in our yard and were playing in it, now, it's all over them, their toy cars that they were running them through, and now it's all over my hands, and I can't clean off the stickiness. I've tried warm water and soap and rubbing alcohol, with no success. Anyone have a solution? Thanks for your help!
Thanks so much for your help! I found a bath oil that we had here at the house that has tea tree oil in it, and it did the job! It even cleaned up the toys and took the sap off the clothes. I was so glad I didn't have to go out to buy something because we were sticking to everything in the house!

Try pure Lestoil original on a terry rag, that should do it!
Hi there, I have a product Melaleuca that has a solvent called Sol-u.mel and takes off all sorts of stains off furniture and goo off of our skin.Good luck.Debbie
Hi V.,
Try tea tree oil. It's a natural solvent and is actually medicinal. I use a very high grade tea tree oil that you can only get online because this particular one is not caustic as the store-bought tea tree oil is. The one I use works very well with the pine tree sap.

Tea Tree Oil! It is non toxic so you can use it on the kids and there toys! works great!
WD-40 sounds off the wall but it works on just about everything and doesn't ruin the finish or take the paint off. It takes gum out of carpets, crayon/markers off almost everything from walls, floors, and clothes. It also takes that sticky film off the kitchen cabinets over the stove from cooking. Once you get the sap off the WD-40 comes right off with soap and water. Hope it works for you.
Any type of oil should do the trick.
I recently trimmed a pine tree in my yard and used WD40 to clean my tools and olive oil for my skin.
Hi, when I get sap on my truck, I use GermX to remove it. Comes off quickly.
Try ice on your hands to make it hard and then peel it off. Also you can try to put the toys in the freezer and then chip it off when frozen.
Try GOOP Hand Cleaner. It's great.
A car buff in N. FL turned me on to this.... We used fingernail polish remover on our cars to remove sap. Obviously, you'd need to test it on toys so it doesn't ruin the finish -- but, then again, they're probably somewhat ruined now. Should be okay on your hands; maybe dilute or immediately wash for the kids?? Good luck!
One word: GOOP. It is a product, probably found in the automotive aisle, that is absolutly wonderful at getting sap, car grease, and anything nasty off skin and clothing and many other surfaces! My dad always had some in the garage and mom used it on us if we found pine tree sap in our backyard during play or came home from the beach with tar on our bathing suits.
Spread a little GOOP on hands and clothes and should be okay on most toys while they are dry, not wet, massage it around, getting all the sap off, then with lots of water and soap, wash it all away!!
Good luck!
If you cannot find GOOP, try cooking oil, olive oil, or something like that.
Hi V.,
Oh no! What a mess! Whenever we get sap on our cars, my husband always uses some stuff called Goo Gone. It works like a charm. I'm sure you can find it at any hardware store. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Hi V., I saw this on a TV show once so I am not sure if it is true...it seems that witch hazel is the trick. It is cheap so I guess it may be worth a try!? I would actually like to know if it really works so please keep me posted. Hope this helps...Good luck!
