T.G.
I bought a I'm a Big Brother shirt for my son to wear at the hospital gift shop I work at. I put that on my son and had him show my husband. It worked out really well. Hope that helps.
I am looking for a fun/creative way to tell my husband that we are pregnant again. Last time we took the test together but this time I really wanted to suprise him but I just can't think of how to do it.
Thanks for all the great suggestions! What I did was made a sign that said "Congratulations you are going to be a Daddy AGAIN!!" and taped the pregnancy test to it. Then I took a picture of it and uploaded the pic as the desktop background on his laptop so that when he got to work and turned on his computer it popped up. He was very excited and called me right away! He thought it was a great suprise, so happy that it worked ;-) Also, I plan on using the big sister Tshirt idea for when we are ready to tell the rest of the family!

I heard this idea on the radio. The mommy to be made tshirts that said uncle so and so.. You could make a tshirt that says... daddy again or something and wrap it up as a present and have him open it!
dont know how old your other one is but maybe write it across the other ones diaper and say mommy says I am going to be a big brother or sister ....
With my second pregancy I put the tester , capped off, on his dinner plate with a napkin covering it. My third one I had the kids in t-shits when he walked in the door. He did not even notice with the t-shirts. But it was a great way to tell everyone else.
My first one he was with me also.
Since this is your second child, I think it would be great to get a shirt for your kid that states I'm a big brother/sister and wait for him to notice it - this will probably only work if your first child is still young enough to not know what it says - since you probably don't want them to know before your husband.... Congrats!
When we were trying to get pregnant before we adopted, I had planned to tell him through Burma shave signs. Remember the old advertisements that would have signs that had a word or two on a sign along the road? As you drove along, you'd eventually get the whole message. I had made signs with a word or two on them and planned to place them along a wooded trail where we used to go for walks all the time. Life had other plans for us and although I never got to use the signs, we have a much bigger surprise for both of us with the arrival of our daughter 7 hours after the first phone call which was only 2 weeks after finishing the paperwork.
With our first, I made a dinner of baby back ribs, baby peas and baby corn. I kept saying things like "How do you like your baby back ribs" and "Isnt' this freshest baby corn you've ever had?" He finally looked at me and said "Are you pregnant?" It was funny.
Congratulations, J.!! I went to the store and bought pink and blue carnations and gave them to him. He was rather surprised, to say the least! Just a suggestion!
You could get a cute "daddy" picture frame and frame a piece of paper that says "insert picture here of your new son/daughter when they arrive on (due date)."
First off Congratulations!!!! :)
When I was pregnant with our 2nd child, I too wanted to surprise my husband. So, I found a sitter and planned a romantic dinner at a local resteraunt. When we got to the resteraunt, after being seated I immediatly "excused myself" to go to the restroom insisting that I did not know what I wanted to drink so that my husband would not order. While in "the restroom" (I did not really go) I found our server and handed her a bottle I had bought and decorated. I asked that whatever my husband ordered to drink was to be put into the bottle and delivered to the table. The bottle had a gift tag on it that said "You are invited to the birth of your second child sometime in the vicinity of December 15, 2001."
It was such a huge hit!!!
I found out I was pregnant with our 3rd child after my husband had been deployed to Iraq, and I sent him an email of new "family" photos. One of each of our other children and a third one of the ultrasound with a caption that said "Get ready we are doing it again!"
Congratulations again! :)
How about making a shirt for your current child son/daughter that says "I'm going to be a big brother/sister!" and have them wearing it when your husband gets home! Just find a plain t-shirt and get some squeeze paint, or permanent marker. Congratulations!!!
My sister bought a tshirt for her oldest that said, "I'm gonna be..." on the front. ANd, on the back it said, "...a Big Brother!" Daddy loved it! They also took pictures of it and sent it to family members who were out of town!
Have your first child where a shirt that says i'm a big brother/sister and see how long it takes him to notice what the shirt says! Congrats
Assuming they have an older brother or sister, buy or make them a shirt that says "I'm The Big Brother (or sister)" and have them wear it when your husband comes home.
I had a Tee Shirt made up that said "Daddy Under Construction" to let him know about our newly expected arrival. Might add the word "Again" and put it on his pillow under the bedspread so he found it when he was going to bed that night. This allowed for a little private time between the two of us to discuss the upcoming event uninterupted.
with our kids we did something fun this time around-- we kept it a secret from them until they figured it out on their own-- so by the time my belly was big enough for them to notice i was already half way through the pregnancy... it made it go faster and it was fun for the kids to find out on their own!
...of course it's not a way to tell your husband... and he would notice if you're throwing up all the time unlike kiddos... anyway just a fun idea.
I took two pregnancy tests to make sure that I was pregnant and then I wrote a note to my husband "from the baby" and stuck it to the bathroom mirror where I knew he would see it before he left for work. It said something like I can't wait to meet you in 9 months and I am looking forward to getting big enough where I can kick mommy's belly and if you talk to me, I will try to communicate back though mommy's belly might get in our way. The last part was really funny because when I was pregnant the first time, my husband would push on my belly and my son would push back. Sometimes I would be sleeping and wake up to the two of them "playing"....which consisted of my husband poking at me and then the baby kicking. Very funny.
