He couldn't stick his tongue out past his gums, so we got the frenectomy (sp?) where they cut under the tongue and now he's nursing mostly without chewing on me, but only on my left side. He still isn't using his tongue like he should on my right side. How do I get him to use his tongue?

I would rely on a lactation consultant for this one. You need hands on help with yourself and your son to work on this skill. Congrats on the new baby and I hope the nursing can be successful!!

he has to re-learn how to use his tongue... there are exercises for this. as someone already mentioned you need to see a lactation consultant or a speech language therapist who knows about breastfeeding.

Also check and see if your hospital has a group that meets, I know Condell has one that meets (free) every tue am with a certified lactation consultant from the mat ward floor.
