Hi there, A friend of mine, who is an elderly lady, has this huge garden with alot of apple trees. She usually will call me and ask if I'd like to have some apples and how many, but this year, I didn't get a call, I just came home one day with two 'huge' bags full of apples on my porch. Such a thoughtful lady, she really is so sweet, but what else can I make with apples? I have already made applesauce, apple jelly, applesauce muffins, apple pie, and apple butter. What other yummy recipes are out there to make with apples? I would love to try something different. Thank you!!

What can I do next?

what about baked apples and pork chops, they are yummy. Also, a thought I had when you were mentioning this is that you could make more of what you have already made and give them away as Christmas gifts, just a thought.

I just made an easy apple cake from Cooking Light last weekend and everyone loved it. It's not overly sweet, so I offered caramel sauce (like you would use for ice cream) and Cool Whip. Most people said they liked it plain, but it gave them options. You can find the recipe by going to www.cookinglight.com and searching for Autumn Apple Cake.

(Note: This makes a single 9-inch round cake, so you may want to double it, depending on how many you need/want to serve.)

Happy cooking!
L.

one of my annual favorites is cinnamon apples....just get a bag of those litle cinnamon candies and boil it in water on the stove with the apples. boil til they get soft but not too long or they get rubbery! your kids will love...the apples turn red and they have that great sweet cinnamon flavor...makes for a fun dessert that isn't too unhealthy.
