I Really Need Advice on a "Destination" Birthday Party for a 10 Year Old Girl

My daughter is turning 10 soon and has her heart set on a "girly" party for about 10 girls. She heard that there was a place in Plano that did Webkinz parties, but that's pretty far for all her friends. We found out that Justice for Girls will do them, but it's $40 per girl which is outrageous. She has looked at some of the spa and tea parties and thinks that would be fun too. I really could use some recommendations on parties that don't require a second mortgage on my house or a day long road trip. She definitely doesn't want the party to be at home. I live on the far southeast side of Chicago and am willing to travel under an hour. Thanks so much in advance.

What can I do next?

What about a ceramics painting or jewelry making party? There are lots of shops like that around the south suburbs.

We did an indoor waterpark party for my daughter one year. I took 7 or 8 girls up to Lake Geneva's Timber Ridge Lodge. We were able to get a 2 bdrm suite with extra queen size bed in the front living room, enough to sleep the girls in a king & queen bed they all shared comfortably, and my husband and I in our own room. It was $100 for the room which included free water park for the girls. Since the room came with a kitchenette, I was able to make them hot dogs, popcorn, and pancakes which all came to about $50 for their meals. I had also brought some additional snacks and cupcakes instead of a big cake. It was cheap and the girls had a blast. She also brought movie rentals for the huge tv screen in the suite. You might not need to go all the way to Lake Geneva, I know theres a place near Starved Rock with an additional indoor carnival & Waterpark, and also in northern IL in one of the suburbs. It might not be that girly, but they had so much fun and had the sleepover included.

Hello S.,
Well I had a hotel party for my daughter when she turned 11. I let her invite 5 girls and they swam in the hotel's pool and had pizza and cake. My room was adjoining to theirs so I was able to keep a eye on the girls all night. I know your daughter wants a girly party but you can do anything you want to the hotel room. Buy some decorations and make it a princess room, a tea party set isn't expensive and you could get enough for the girls to have a tea party. The dollar store always has little princess tiaras and wands etc. The best thing about it is when you are done you can just leave, no clean up. Good Luck.
