When I would go for my monitoring (high risk from diabetes & bipolar meds) they would give me apple juice & graham crackers. That would usually get my daughters moving around. Or sometimes I would lay on my bed an poke at them or move them around. As the other two posts suggested, they are running out of room ;)

I never pass by questions about fetal movement, because (and I don't want to scare you, but feel I need to at least mention the possibility) my first son wasn't moving at 36.5 weeks and it turned out he was strangling to death in his umbilical cord.

Call your OB right away and mention your concern. S/he will let you know how to monitor the movements and whether or not you should be concerned. You will likely be told to go drink some juice, or eat something sugary and go lie down in your room, on your side, and count the kicks.

When I tried to monitor this way I didn't feel a single kick. They had me immediately come in to labor and delivery and put me on the monitors and did an u/s but there was no movement at all and ended up doing an emergency C-section which saved his life.

Most likely your baby has just run out of space and is just gonna chill for the remainder of your pregnancy, but because of my experience I always advocate that when in doubt, call your OB.

Best wishes to you and your baby!

Bigger baby has less room!

You can do a kick count... I THINK you are supposed to feel at least 10 kicks in an hour... (Can't remember for sure...)

Of course, if you are worried, it never hurts to call up your doctor and ask. :)

If she's moving around, but less, it's because she has less room. If it's been more than 2 hrs, you've eaten something with sugar, and she's not moving at all, call your Dr ASAP.

My baby liked bananas. I always got a kick when I fed her those. But my doc always encouraged me to call and come in if I had any concerns.

Chances are, she's squished! She's got less and less space to maneuver in there. But do check with your OB, just in case. In 95% of the cases, it just means the baby has run out of room. To quiet your own anxiety, have your OB rule out the 5% chance of something more serious.

She's running out of room.
My son squirmed quite a bit but not when I could feel him.
On the other hand my husband felt him quite a bit.
I'd snuggle up to him as I slept and Hubby would feel a nudge and move over.
Next thing I know he fell out of bed.
Yep - our son kicked Daddy out of bed before he was born!
It seems the baby slept as I moved around during the day but when I was sleeping he'd kick up a storm.
No wonder he had his days and nights mixed up for such a long time after he was born - it was just the sleep pattern he was use to before he was born.
If the baby's head is down, it makes it a bit harder for them to move about as much as they use to (but they can waggle their behind around a bit - I could tell my son's bottom was just left of my belly button).
You can have your Dr check things out for your own peace of mind.

I'd put a call into the Dr to be safe. More then likely you'll be told to drink a large glass if cold juice n lay on your side.

Did you call your OB when you fell on your stomach? Did they have you come in and check you out?

At 36 weeks - it's pretty tight in there! She's MOVING right? When you drink orange juice or anything sweet like that - does she move more?

You should call your OB so they can have you come in and put you on the fetal monitor for movement. Chances are, you are fine - there's NOT A LOT of space anymore in there...

Why not call you OB and ask him/her? After all - they are the ones who have examined you, know you and have been taking care of you over the last 8/9 months.

You should get a tall glass of water and call your doctor. Then you should realize, there is not as much room in the belly for her to move.

Call your doctor. That's what they are there for. Like I said on your other post, they would rather you call and have nothing wrong then have you not call and there be a problem.
At this point they are squirming more than all out kicking because they are running out of room. I would watch my belly sort of roll as an arm or leg would slide up and down. A foot, hand or elbow would be more of a pushing instead of a punch or kick. Baby is no longer tumbling around.
Please call your OB. We can not diagnose you over the internet. You need to talk to someone that is seeing you, someone that can see you and see what your baby is doing.

If you are concerned call you OB. They should be able to get you in to check things over. I went through this and it's true that they are bigger now and have less room to move around in.

As some have suggested here, drink something cold and lay on you left side and see if the baby moves then... but again when in doubt at all just call and speak to your OB office.

This is a common scare towards the end. Well, for me I was always freaking out if I didn't feel the baby move much after the first trimester though ;p But yeah again call your OB especially now that its been going on for 2 days.
