I agree w/ West Portal, though the weather can be dicey. Douglass playground at Douglass and 26th has a good clubhouse and generally better weather (it's in Noe Valley).
I am looking for a good place to have my two year old's birthday party. A park with some kind of clubhouse or rec center would be great in case the weather is not good. any suggestions?

West Portal Rec center is really fantastic for this age. It has a full kitchen and a fantastic outdoor playground and field if the weather is nice. You can reserve it through SF parks and rec
We've used playground/parks for our son's birthday and it worked out great. We used Midtown Terrace a few times and Douglass Playground. The kids can play on the playground and gather for the cake, it's safe and relatively inexpensive. Midtown Terrace has an indoor area that you can rent, or you can just pay to have the restrooms open for you. Parking is easy and there's a large field to play games or to just let the kids run around. You should also check West Portal - beautiful indoor area that has just been redone. Parking is harder, though, so if it's on a weekend, I would check that out.
Hi C.....definatly Douglass park! I was just near there last weekend and I saw a jumper and balloons. It has a big patch of grass ann tennis courts and basketball courts, a playground and rec center and very importantly Restrooms! Try to be there early because it is a first come first serve. Also bring your own tables and chairs.....Hope this helps.
West Portal Park on Lenox. It's right next to the West Portal Muni Station, up the street on Lenox. The park has a play area, huge field, outdoor tables & a rec center inside. We just went to 2 b-day parties there and it was great!
Hi!
There is a club house in stern grove park:) A whole lot of space for the kids and parents to run around! And do activities.
