I'm working on my baby registry and I'm debating between the Britax Companion and the Graco Snugride. Anyone who has one of these seats please give some feedback. What do you love and hate about either of the seats?

What can I do next?

Hi
We used the snugride with great success. we used it until our son was about 10 months old. i have a friend who loves the britax seats for her bigger kids (she's also a car seat inspector) but used the snugride when they were infants. the problem with the bigger convertible seats is that if your baby is born on the small side they may not sit comfortably (or safely!) in the convertible seat. i know that they are ok for use at 5 lbs but some babies just don't like the ride.
the snugride for us was awesome, super easy installation. we just snapped it in and out and got it with a stroller in a set for about 130. also so much easier when they are sleeping to go from car to house etc. anyway in case you can't tell, i highly recommend the graco. good luck with all of your decisions!

I hear great things about Britax but they are too pricey for me. We went with the Snugride which was highly rated by Consumer Reports. They can only be in until they are 26 in so my daughter was out of it in 5 months and my son will only be in it 3 mos, so personally I wouldn't spend the extra money. You can invest in the Britax convertibles because they can be in them for 3 yrs.

I have had both the snugride and a britax (roundabout). I love bot for different reasons. The snugride made it so easy to pop her in and out of the car in the beginning but she was out of ot around 7 months old. The roundabout is expensive but easy to use and she seems to really like it. It also is a little more compact so it fit in my smaller car. I did have to get used to buckling her in and out every time we went somewhere. If money is tight I would go with the Britax since it will last you a couple years instaed of a couple months. We actually borrowed our friends snugride since it was still pretty new (her baby had just grown out of it) and we knew it hadn't been in any accidents.
Good Luck on your choice!

We had the Graco Snugride for my son who is almost 2 yrs old. We really liked it and we actually bought another base for my husband's car. Can't say that there is anything I didn't like about it, it is easy to install and really easy to use since all you have to do is click in the infant seat. The only thing that is tough is how heavy those infant seats are when you carry them with the baby in them...I guess it is a great workout for your arms. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
