Hey moms! I want to buy a jogger stroller and I am by far an avid runner. My husband wants to use it and he runs pretty fast. He is being cheap but I want to go for the best rated ones. Any thoughts?

What can I do next?

Do NOT cheap out! This is something you will use for years-- you will regret it if you get the cheap one. The BOBs are the best...

Cheap is bad but used is good! :-)

I think the one thing I would do differently if I had another baby would be not to be cheap on essential baby items.
I went with a cheaper stroller than the one I wanted and ended up barely using it. If you can afford, go for what you really want.
Also: go to a store and actually try them out before you buy!

Good luck.

I have a B.O.B and I LOVE it! I originally had a second hand one from a friend that was babytrend and it was ok as long as I was running on a track or a very smooth service. Once my little guy hit about 20lbs, that stroller didn't seem "sturdy" enough. I got the B.O.B not long after I felt he outgrew the other one, and so wished I had got it to begin with. Its the best stroller out there and I can take it ANYWHERE and its always a great ride! It was expensive but well worth it as I use it almost daily and my son doesn't mind riding in it at all! Also, they are made very well so it will last a long time. You might want to check your local bicycle shops to see if they sell them. A friend of mind found hers (gently used but still in great shape) for half of what I paid new. Good Luck!

You sound like me and my husband. After convincing my husband that we didn't need the Bob (although one of the best and most expensive) we went with the Baby Trend Velocity. We love it. It retails for about $170, but you can always use the Babies R Us 20% off coupon. I don't know about Consumer Reports or other rating companies, but it got good customer reviews on Babies R Us.

I bought one from Target for about $100 and I can not complain. I have had it for about 1.5 years. It goes over any type of terrain and it is easy to open and close. It holds up to 50 lbs. I can not think of the name, sorry. Good luck

The BOB is by far the best! It is expensive but worth every penny! My daughter is 4 and is still very comfortable in it. It goes everywhere. (except on a plane-kinda big). The Revolution allows you to lock the front wheel or have it swivel for easy turning. You'll be very happy you made this purchase-if you decide to do so.

We LOVE our BOB!

My Sister had the Baby Jogger (the original Performance), and she LOOOOOOVED it. (She and her husband like to run on the beach - they live in Florida)

Have a look at joggingstroller.com --- they list and describe practically EVERY jogging stroller, offer detailed reviews, including pros/cons and comparable strollers.

I got a cheap jogging stroller as a gift from my in-laws. The thought was nice but it was not what I wanted. The thing that bothered me most was that it did not turn easily (which is fine if you are walking but a pain if you are running). If you have an REI near you, look at the Bob strollers like several others suggested. The salespeople in the store would be able to help you make an informed decision (and may help convince your husband that sometimes you get what you pay for). Also, a Bob would have a better resale value on e-bay or craigslist so you could get some of your investment back : ) !

Try Craigslist--I just looked for jogging strollers on there the other day and there were so many, and at least a few still in box, or used only a couple times.
