Labels for Bottles/toy/etc. for Daycare

My son is about to start daycare. What is the best way to label his personal items? I assume a sharpie would be fine for the sheets & burp cloths. How should I label his bottles? Toys? (I might leave a couple toys in his crib for his use only) Thanks.

What can I do next?

Hi
I used a sharpie to write his name on the bottom of his bottles, and the lids. You can buy sew-on labels or ink clothing stamps for the other stuff
Good luck

Hi J.,

I agree that a sharpie is definitely the cheapest solution. However, we found www.labeldaddy.com for labels. They have a combo pack with a variety of size labels. The labels stay on through washing (washing machine and dishwasher). I've been using them for about 6 months now and so far none have washed off or come off. I use the labels for bottles, blankets, sheets, bowls, bibs, clothes, etc.
The labels also come in different colors and just look nicer than sharpie. Plus if you plan to have other children, you can just remove the labels from child #1 and relabel for next child vs. striking over sharpie or buying all new.
Good luck!

I label the bottles with one of those label makers and use the plastic label tape instead of the paper. That's for the name, then for the date I use a washable crayon that won't come off when they warm up the bottle, but rubs off with your finger.

Hello! I used inchbug.com .... they have cool rubber labels that go on the bottles, sippy cups, and even larger water bottles that are personalized. I bought a set of 4 and picked the 4 cups she would take to daycare. They are dishwasher safe, so they never come off. I used a label maker for her lunch box, but with using a dishwasher, the sharpie will come off the bottle or sippy cup. Good luck!

Sharpies. Ditto.
And use the Sharpies "laundry marker" for clothing items.

It's the cheapest, quickest, and easiest to upkeep. Whenever the labeling starts to "fade" on my daughter's things, all I do is re-write over it again for example, on her water bottles etc.

Plus it's washable.

Good luck~
