I know that someone asked this question awile ago but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Here's the problem. My 14 month old boy is a good sleeper (6:00pm-7:00am on average) but he is super active when he sleeps. He scoots and rolls all around his crib. This wouldn't be such an issue except he is starting to get his leg stuck between the bars of his crib. Then he wakes up screaming because he is stuck, disoriented, sleepy and in pain. Has anyone had success in preventing this. We have a crib bumper in his crib, but it doesn't do anything he just gets his foot stuck above or below the bumper.

What can I do next?

I had to chuckle at that, my daughter used to do the same thing! Would drive me insane at night. I would be carful if you do the plexiglass thing, if he's as curious as mine was at that age, it'll either get shoved around, taken out, or broke, heh. Mine was a climber too, could climb anything!

What i did was buy 3 of those bumper things and tied them down extremely tight, overlapping a bit. Or you could wrap a sheet up and down the bars, tieing them to the buttom of the crib near the wheels, very tight.

Both mine are so active at night time, crazy. I never used a crib for my second one, I got a playpen. Which was good cause he likes to smoosh himself agasint the soft cushy walls of it. Might consider that :) Or, just get a toddler bed! at 15 monthes I moved him to a toddler bed, took a few nights to get used to, but he loves it.

Cribs just never lasted long with me, oldest one kept climbing out at night at 1 year old.. would hear THUD, then PATTER PATTER PATTER GIGGLE TOY-NOISE haha.

Ender was the same way so at 15 months I put his toddler mattress on the floor, so he couldn't really fall, and let him sleep on that. He got used to not having rails and and when he was 18 months we moved the mattress onto the toddler bed. it worked out well and now he's so attached to his bed he won't sleep in our 'big' bed!

If y'all could make it a few more months, you could try that!
hope that helps!

Searched and found this product:

http://www.amazon.com/Tru-Flate-Crib-Shield-System/dp/B00...

The only thing about:
There is a product made just for this. I think one step ahead carries it. Here is a link to a product they have that may help. http://www.leapsandboundscatalog.com/product/86193/352762...
We have this one on my daughter Molly's bed, but it's just a thin bumper. Your son could still push it down or pull it up. It doesn't cover the entire cribside like the other one above. The Plexiglass idea does seem a bit dangerous, plus it's not approved by any board as safe, so I would probably assume it's not. Bumpers are recommended up to a certain age because of dangers to older children, pulling them off, getting tangled in them, sufficating.

Hi K.,
Suggestion: Get a sheet of plexiglass and fit it to the side of the crip your son keeps getting his leg stuck. We have stairs with rods/rail (no wall) and at one section of the stair, my twin boys can reach through and crab a picture hanging on the opposing wall. My husband cut a piece of plexiglass to fit this area and attached it. Now they cannot reach through the rods; therefore, the picture is not touched.
