I have always had a low sex drive. It's really getting to my husband after 9 years of marriage. Has anyone tried supplements to boost their libido? What has worked for you? I'm specifically looking at Zestra, VirMax, and Libido- Max. Any other suggestions? All are welcome. Thank You!!!

I did try some last year (for the life of me, I can't remember the brand name), but they didn't work.

I found that exercising and increasing zinc in my diet (eating more foods like strawberries and pumpkin seeds) helped. Plus, having more sex makes me want more sex.

Have you talked to your doctor about your low sex drive? Maybe start there and see what the doc suggests.

Strange that I should read this first thing this morning. Last night I was watching OPRAH and the famous Dr. Oz was on there and several people who have started implementing the program from his book, (You: Staying Young: The Owner's Manual for Extending Your Warranty (You) by Michael F. Roizen and Mehmet C. Oz).

I believe it is the 12th chapter that deals with sex. The woman who talked about how it helped her, had nothing but great things to say. It was her 8th week and she was feeling great - and she felt it had helped her sex life by the 2nd week.

The book can be a little pricey - but you can find it on amazon.com for a better price.

Hope this helps!

I second the poster who said having more sex makes you want more sex. There are several books out there about people who make the decision to have sex every day for a certain amount of time and it has done wonders for their drive and their marriage.

Talk to you husband. Decide together to try it every day (or maybe every other day to start) for a month and see what happens. It really does work!

You should talk to your dr. This may not be the cause of your issue, though it may be an option in finding a solution. This article showed up on my news search server today.

Counseling can do wonders sometimes. You may have been raised to be afraid of the consequences of sex before marriage. I know a girl and her sister that were raised that way. 2 children later after 8 years of marriage she still doesn't enjoy sex. Her body is tied in knots but she is finally going for help. Hopefully there will be a corner to turn for her...poor thing

I don't know what your history is, but I thought I would share my experience with birth control pills. I am a huge fan of them if they work for you, but personally my husband and I had to come up with a different plan because the hormones involved in birth control pills kills my libido, my Dr. told me it was normal and not to worry, but my husband and I realized it was a problem when 3 months would pass and we hadn't been intimate.

It's not for everyone and requires a lot of work and research, but we now use natural family planning or fertility awareness which involves charting and recording all your fertility signs and then we find alternative ways of being intimate when we are trying not to conceive. personally for me it has made a huge difference in our lives and I feel 100% better and more in the mood more often. I actually pursue for the first time in years. Another pro for it is that you learn to recognize signs of cervical cancer much sooner then someone who doesn't chart. A concern for me since my sister has had several cervical cancer scares.
