Huh, I've wondered the same thing. My periods have gotten way lighter since having both my kids....but I also just turned 38. I'm wondering if it means my cycle is slowing down??? It'll be interesting to see what others say :-)

Anybody started having lighter periods after baby? I always had heavy flow(not extremely heavy) and don't remember geting lighter flow until 3rd or 4th day. But now I have medium flow on first day and starts with lighter flow from day 2 or 3. I am not on any birth control.
Is it normal for periods to get lighter with age or after baby? I am 29 and delivered 1.5 years back.
Thanks moms !

My periods actually got much heavier after my daughter was born. I don't get cramps as badly anymore, but my flow is definitely heavier.
Mine got heavier after having my kids - which my dr said was normal. However, I think it is changes in your flow that are normal, not whether they are lighter or heavier. If you are concerned, you should ask your dr.
And unless you have a history of early menopause in your family, you aren't old enough for it to be getting lighter with age.
Mine got heavier after my first but were shorter by about a day.
Mine are now much lighter and shorter with my second -- now only 2 days where they used to be 5.
And they are not not painful - almost at all. Before (and all my life) they hurt so bad I used to miss class.
Weird!
I think its more with age. I used to have periods for 7-10 days and it would start heavy and stay like that for at least 4 days and before I had my first baby they started light and ended light with one heavy flow a week and that didnt start until I was 23 (10 yrs later since I had my first cycle). Now the flow is the same. (shorter and lighter). I dont do birth control either so thats what I think!
