Looking for a Mom of an Autistic Child That Scrips a Lot

She sounds like a super Scripter. Is she saying lines or words? do you know where she is getting the line from?

My nephew went through this and will every once in a while he would do this till he was a teen. .. His mom will make a loud clap and then tell him, this is not time to say these words. And then later when he has down time allow him 3 minutes to script.

He was repeating lines from videos or video games, so she made him earn time to each these or play these by having him read.. For as long as her read a book, play quietly, clean his room or played outside, he could then watch a video..

He would flit around so much that the actual time did not always add up to much time..

Let me reassure you, he just graduated from High School and is going to attend college out of state. He has kept up with his therapies and still can call on any of them when he has set backs..

There was a boy at my son's taekwondo that would recite entire Scooby Doo episodes over and over and speak about himself as a third person - he's 13.
Instead of "I want some juice" he'd say "Billy wants juice".
He couldn't seem to stop.
He's in middle school special ed classes now and I haven't seen him around for awhile since he stopped coming to taekwondo.

We have a 5 year old autistic great-grandson who has done this since he started to talk, which was early on. He converse just fine but likes to repeat lines from TV, movies, etc. and can go off in a minute into a whole act/
Our great-granddaughter, also, 5 and autistic did not talk until she was 2 and then used echolaia (repeating phases) as her only communication. She was not always correct in use at6 first but got better. She is talking and conversing just fine now although you can still here the parroting.
Is your sweetie in special classes? A good speech therapist can do wonders with this.

My Andy is 13 and if I have learned anything it is they love to change up the terms. So what the heck is scripting?

Andy has repeated stuff from TV and movies since he was three to the point it drives me insane. He doesn't do it so much anymore but still does.

Everything is a shape, even if it is not. To him it is a shape. and he is absolutely obsessed with fans, "That's a heater fan, that's a water fan, that's a cold fan."
Over and over and over. He answers himself now because we I guess we stopped answering him after the fifty millionth time. I love him but I really can't wait until the day he looks at me and says, "mommy...blah blah something." Instead of talking to nothing constantly.
