Help! I'm returning to work on Nov. 28th from maternity. The childcare arrangements that I had made have fallen through. I need an affordable sitter or daycare.

What can I do next?

J., The very best place to check out is Childtime in Plano on Hedgcoxe. The director and staff have all been at the school between 4 and 9 years. The ladies in the infant room are grandma type. Everyone at this place is so friendly and sweet. They work with you as much as possible with prices. They give discounts to teachers. Give them a call at ###-###-####. Tammy is the director. They are very caring group of ladies. Good luck, Nicole

Hi J.,
We live in Carrollton and our son goes to daycare in Carrollton. When I went back to work I used this link to find a daycare:
http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Child...

Its sort of pot luck. You have to actually go visit these places to really get a feel. I found one that had their own website and it was really cute which tells me they take pride in their business. However, they were booked solid for months (which also tells me that parent's really like this place too). So, I asked them to refer another daycare if they knew of one and they did and that is where my son is now. She is also listed in the link above, but she was just another name out of many. It took a referral to make her stand out. I am very happy with her as she is not just a 'babysitter', but she also has lessons for the children to learn each day. Good luck!

Consider researching registered homecare. State of Texas lists all providers. Fewer colds!
