We are fairly new to the Denton area and have not had need for medical care yet.(Except one E.R. visit). So I am looking for a Pediatrician for my 3, 4 and 6 year old children. Also my youngest needs a pediatric allergist. We need a general practice doctor for my husband and myself and I am in need of a neurologist. Also a kid friendly dentist for the kids. We live east of Loop 288, south of 380 (University), west of Mayhill Dr, north of McKinney Dr. But would drive a little for a well recommended professional. We have Humana insurance and the kids also have Medicaid.

I can recommend a great pediatritian in that side of town. Her name is Dr. Adams and her partner is Dr. Jones
They are both great and they are located in the medical offices outside Presbyterian hospital.

I see a couple of people recommended Amy Adams. I have 2 very good friends who use her and love her. I take my daughter to Cook Children's North on Bonnie Brae, which is about 2 minutes from Presbyterian Hospital and Amy Adams office. They are all really close together. Our pedi is Milt Squiers. I, along with many friends, use him, and he is a great pediatrician. He has been in practice around 30 years. He is very knowledgable, willing to answer questions and is very descriptive in his responses. He is gentle with children as well. My husband and I know him on a personal level too because he and his wife are our bible study leaders. I have not seen the other pediatricians in the office because I always try to see Dr. Squiers, but a close friend who uses Dr. Squiers has seen Dr. Van Maele and Dr. Eckels when Dr. Squiers was out, and she has had a good experience with both as well.
I have friends who use Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Goff on the South side of Denton. They are with Cook Children's South, and they have a wonderful reputation as well.
My husband and I use Dr. Scott Talbot with the Medical Clinic of North Texas as our general physician. I actually see his P.A. Kitty Elder, and I LOVE her!!!
If you do choose Amy Adams, then the huge bonus is that Dr. Talbot and Dr. Adams share the same building. Although I will tell you that Cook Children's North and Medical Clinic of North Texas are located so close together that there really is not much difference.

I do hope the transition to Denton is going smoothly for you and your family! The road setup is extremely quirky, but Denton has a lot of charm, and it grows on you. Check out all the city offers with events and stuff through www.cityofdenton.com and the Parks and Recreation department. I'm sure you can find lots of things to do with your kids that will be a good introduction to the town!

For an allergist I am not sure that he is specifically a pediatric allergist but he is who I bring my 3 and 5 year old to and I absolutely LOVE him. Dr. Wust. He plays with the boys so that it is a fun place for them yet addresses all of my concerns and gives me LOTS of information when I need it. When we have had to do labs he has even sent me home with copies, and I didn't even have to ask for them.

Dr. Jason Clapp & Dr. Jessica Bell are pediatric dentists in Highland Village that accept medicaid. They will file both your Humana & Medicaid.
For allergies, I go to Dr. Otto at Presbyterian Hospital. He is really great, and the staff is wonderful. I see young children in sometimes, and the nurses make them feel so special, I'm not sure they realize they're getting shots! His office is ###-###-####. Good luck!

Look into Family Care Center. Thomas D.Newell is a family nurse practitioner and Homeopathic Master Clinician. Our entire family uses him Daddy and 3 kiddos. For a dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Scott Lipscomb, DDS. His office is located at 288 & I-35 in the professional building off of Teasley across from the Albertson's center. Cathy sets the appointments. Their staff is great. The office number is: ###-###-####.
On a personal note, Dr. Lipscomb lost his 22 year old son the day after Christmas to a fatal Grand Mal seisure. Please keep their family in your prayers. Nick was an outstanding young man who lived his faith. His funeral was attended by over 600 people last Tuesday.

Look into Dr. Carrie Jones or Dr. Amy Adams. They are both very good Pediatricians in Denton on Scripture. Right next to the Presby Hosp. There are also some great doctors at the North Texas Medical building which is in the same area.
