I too used Dr. Julia Flowers for my last delivery and she is excellent. I had a "high risk" pregnancy and she was very attentive to my needs. She even arranged for a surgeon friend of hers to do the closing on my c-section since I had had an infection with my first childbirth and she didn't want that to happen again. She referred me to other specialists during my first & second trimesters to monitor my pregnancy when it was appropriate. Here are the downsides though: she's soooo popular that it's hard to get in to see her. Sometimes I had to wait well over an hour for my scheduled visit. They will not file on insurance if you have to have a Rhogham (sp?) shot because they don't get reimbursed enough for that so that's like $150 out of your pocket (or maybe more - I can't quite remember). My primary physician uses her and told me Dr. Flowers had excellent credentials (this is why I chose her for my last pregnancy) - top of her class at Harvard, University of California at Stanford (I think), Resident of the Year, etc., etc. I think her father is a Physician as well (not 100% sure about that). I don't have any clue if she accepts Medicaid though. Good luck!
