There are countless organizations offering parenting classes, but it just depends on what you "really" need. If your children have any special needs whatsoever, Peak Parenting is an outstanding resource. The Conflict Center is another good one. I'm not sure what part of town you're in, but there's a Parenting With Love & Logic class being taught at Corona Presbyterian Church at 8th & Downing. Love & Logic can be expensive, but a portion of this class is subsidized. Give them a call. The class may have started this week. Bright Star Early Learning Center is in a church that has also offered the class economically. The teacher was phenomenal, although I don't personally agree with all of their principles. You can also contact Catholic Charities and many other religious organizations. For other recommendations, call 3-1-1.
Best of luck...
There is a really great lady named Patience Blesken. She teaches parenting classes. Her website is www.parentsandchildrenempowered.com. She is great!
Love and Logic! They're so wonderful (I feel like I'm always gushing on this site!). There is a conference in Arvada this weekend. Go to www.loveandlogic.com and click on seminars then colorado and you'll find them. Their books are also extraodinarily practical, simple, loving, and fun! I know the library has videos and cds with the teaching on them as well! I've borrowed several and I love them. Everything from bedtime, to chores, to homework and mostly how to teach your kids to be responsible using empathy and love. It's so simple!
