Looking for Preschool near the Colony

We just moved to Texas about a month ago so I'm still learning the area.
I'm looking to send my 2 1/2 year old daughter to preschool 1-2 days a week. I'd prefer somewhere that's nurturing where they are used to handling very energetic kids. Any suggestions for a preschool in or near the Colony? Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

I live in The Colony and my child attends First United Methodist on Paige. I really like it and so does my 4 yr old son. I would have to say they are professional, friendly and have a great program. They offer Math, Science, Spanish and Music, which is a step above his previous school. Thier science projects are just pure fun. Enrollment starts soon (like in the next week and a half or so) and there is usually a waiting list, so I would recommend checking into it fairly quickly. In fact, most schools in The Colony tend to have a waiting list, so I would recommend trying to get in right when enrollment begins. Good luck and my email address is ____@____.com if you have any additional questions...

Family Life Learning Center is one that comes to mind...I sent my son there for about a year until he started Pre-K and I moved to him to a private Pre-K. It is Christian based but they don't cram religion down the child's throat like other places do.

Kindercare in Carrollton (corner of Huffines and Hebron Pkwy near 121 bypass) is great as well. My 5 year old is there and they are great.

I'd stay away from La Petite in The Colony on Paige. I have to say it is poorly run. When my son went there and I worked there part time (left on good terms too) I heard employees yelling at the 2 year olds to take a nap and I have seen an employee place her leg on a child to keep him on his cot for nap time. I'm not sure who the director is now but if it is the same one from a few years ago I'd run away as fast as I could. I got into a screaming argument with the one who yelled at the 2 year old to take a nap.

Hope this helps.

My daughter has attended LakeWay Bible Bears Pre-School for the last 2 years and I will be enrolling my son there next year. I love this school, very nurturing, Christian based, and a nice pre-school curriculum. They beat all other programs pricing. You are charged $18 a day only for the days school is in session. For example, Dec. is half the cost as September...because they are only there 2 weeks. Other programs charge you a set monthly fee, regardless of the number of days your child is there that month. I save at least a $500 becuase of that pricing. Kelly Biggs is the director and her number is ###-###-#### or ###-###-####.

A.,
I've heard good things about Bible Bears - in fact some of the teachers there also work at The Colony Gymnastics Center. They are probably very used to energetic kids in that program. I think that The Colony Gymnastics also has a MDO program - but I don't know a whole lot about it. I would agree to stay away from the LaPetite & would also add that I have not heard good things about Family Life Center. I at one time looked at Kids Count Too - it's a little pricey, but they are absolutely great people - and very willing to work with challenging kids.

I used to nanny for a family that lives in West Plano (in Willowbend). Their daughter went to Canyon Creek Day School on Spring Creek @ Coit on Tuesday & Thursdays until 11:15. I think they had full day schedules too. She was 2 1/2 when she started, will be in Kindergarten next year, and still attends school there. She loved it. The teachers were wonderful, sweet ladies who really love kids. She learned so much too: letters, colors, numbers, even spanish. I think its not too far from where you are. It would be worth a look. Good Luck!
