It depends on how long it's been since I had it. When I haven't had me time for a long time... ALL of it is spent vegging. When I'm getting me time on a regular basis then I get things done.
Finally I get some me time. I don't think I have been home alone since June. I am over whelmed with things I want to do, but I know I don't have enough time to do them all. What do you during your me time?
Thanks all you wonderful Mama's! Hubby called and is on his way home with the kiddo's. :) Yes, I missed them, but I got a bunch of cleaning done too! I did take a walk to the recycle bin to drop off the news papers. Other than that I cleaned, cleaned O and did some laundry. :) It has been nice to crank the radio and just do my thing.

I usually do a combination of things. Clean a little, go for a walk and read a book. Recharging is the most important part.
Take a shower until the water runs cold. Read. Nap. Go to a store or restaurant that I wouldnt take the kiddo to.
first off, figure out how to get more MMEEEEEE time! it's so vital for young mothers, and one of the hardest things to make happen.
let your instincts guide you. it may be that in all those months you've thought that if you had a day alone you'd spend it in a bookstore, or hiking, but now that it's here all you want to do is have a johnny depp movie marathon and eat pringles. go with it! don't feel any 'should's. you have those with your family. do whatever your heart wants to do at any given moment while you've got this precious time.
enjoy!

All of these responses are so nice to read. I don't have to worry about "me" time, as I don't have children that live at home, and I'm single. I have a lot of "me" time. I have my own home, my job, and my dog & cat. Those things alone keep me busy. But what I want to share is that my girlfriend recently adopted her three grandchildren and OH BOY does she need to join this website. I bet a lot of you moms would have answers to her questions! One of the kids has to be "line of sight" supervision 24/7. I just told her yesterday that she needs "me" time. She laughed at me. She said her me time is having one night of the week to have game night with the kids. It's the one night they don't have sports, karate, scouts, etc...
So to all you Moms, take time for "me" time, you deserve it!!
When I have me time, I walk through stores, get a cup of coffee or tea, and just stroll. I may go for a massage. I will sit on the couch and watch t.v. in a quiet house.
Me time - what's that? J/K - I like to take a long hot bath!! and a nap ~ :0)
Watch a movie and veg out. Or Watch a movie and scrapbook. Or watch a movie and sleep. Something along those lines. And all this would be in my pajama's while on my bed.
Have fun!
There's such a thing?!
About a week ago, I had an entire two days to myself.
One day, I stayed in my pajamas nearly all day & watched the entire season of "Modern Family" on my DVR. Then, I got all dolled up & went out for a very nice Italian dinner with one of my best girlfriends.
The other day, I spent almost two hours wandering around Target. Just about every worker asked if they could help me with anything. Never has my reply of "No thanks" been so peaceful. Then, I went home & wrote my blog with no interruptions & therefore, no typos. :)
Enjoy your me time everybody!!
I usually pick the things that I like the most that I usually don't get to do. I generally use the time to do something that is NOT productive. I take the time to really relax and let go of the constant need to be "doing" something.
I like taking myself out to lunch with a really good book and then going to a movie. There is something about being able to sit in a really great chic flick and cry my eyes out without worrying about anyone sitting next to me judging me. Sometimes I just stay in and take a bubble bath (noone to knock on the door and interrupt me) then put my pjs on and sit in front of the tv with some really great movies.
Of course, my regular me time is country dancing. I go dancing from 1 to 4 days a week. I have been dancing for 12 years now and it has sustained me through all kinds of crazy and stressful times in my life. I don't really know what I would do without it. It is the one thing that is really mine and my children respect it and now encourage me to go especially when I am stressed.
In fact, it has expanded to something I get to share with my children now too. We enjoy everything from ballroom to swing dancing. And even though we are on a tight budget we have managed to find ways to dance or take a class here and there inexpensively.
I find reading a book is most relaxing. But I like the painting the toenail idea. How about you use my favorite scrub on your feet and hands. It is just olive oil and sugar mixed together to make a thick paste. Just put it on and rinse it off with warm water. Your skin will feel so soft after wards. Then paint them and while you are waiting for them to dry read a book or do a crossword.
Have a great time!
Suzy and her men
I would paint my toenails. : )
Sit on the sofa and watch bad TV reruns. All the other stuff can get done later. TV alone cannot : )
All I have to say is "what is ME time?" LOL....I haven't had any of that in such a long time. I too would be like you.....what to do with myself!! Right now sleep sounds really good but that' no much fun is it? I don't have an answer for you but I thought I would chime in and say congratulations and treat yourself to something wonderful!! :)
I find myself rushing during my "me time". Why, I don't know. LOL.
Enjoy it.
