I am seeking a safe, reputable preschool for a two year old, that would meet half-days several times per week. The geography for the school is either Lakeview/Wrigleyville or Vernon Hills. Also, what should I expect as far as "wait lists" are concerned? Many thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi! I have a home daycare of 45 and Washington, right next to Gurnee. I have one 2 year old and one 3 year old who comes to my home from Mundelein. If you are interested, please contact me and we can see if my location is OK. We do everything a daycare would do in terms of education since I used to work at a daycare, but after I had my kids, I wanted to stay at home. I provide a fun, loving and a lot of one on one since I don't have many kids. Love to hear from you....

My son goes to Christ Lutheran Preschool in Vernon Hills. He loves it. I'm sending my younger son there next year. They have many flexible options for days ranging from 2 days a week to 4-5 days a week with morning or afternoon choices. There is approx 15 kids per class and there is sometimes a waiting list. They are giving tours and information now for the 08/09 school year.

Just wanted to put a thought for you. sounds like quite a distance between the two. You might want to keep your child close to where you are during the day so if an emergency arises you are close by. So many moms put their kids in care near their homes and when there is an emergency the time could take forever to get there

Hi K.,

I actually live in Vernon Hills. One fo my sons went to the Park District for his last year for preschool. I had such a great experience that I am sending my 2 year old next year. They have a Wed/Fri program and a Tues/Thurs for 2 years old. Let me know if you would like anymore information about the area. - E.
