Sorry to hear about your misery, but it is normal, so feel better on that front anyway. I was miserable for the first 13 weeks, naseous all day. Hopefully at 13 weeks your hormones will level out and it won't be so bad. There are a few things you can do to try to help. First of all, keep crackers or dry cheerios by your bed, and eat before you get up and in the middle of the night. Nausea can be a vicous cycle, you are sick so you don't eat, and then you are even sicker on an empty stomach! Try to keep some food in your stomach at all times. Eatin ginger or sour foods, even lemon juice helps many women. If none of these 'home remedies' work for you, there is a slightly more medicinal route. Try one half of a unisom in the morning and the other half at night. This works, but definately run it past your doc first. B6 is also helpful. Good luck!

OH how I feel for you. I had it constantly when I was pregnant with my daughter (she's now 4). And it lasted longer than the first trimester so be prepared that it could take awhile to go away. I hated that people told me m.s. was a sign of a healthy pregnancy, but now that I have some distance I understand why people said it. Having morning sickness and a healthy child sure beats feeling nothing and losing the baby (I've been there too).

My recommendations are these: If you can do anything to take stress off yourself do it. Have your older kids chip in. REST and SLEEP. Eating, as awful as it sounds, really takes the edge off the nausea. I had to eat ever 90 minutes or more when I was pregnant. See about a Zofran prescription from your doc. I took Unisom tabs (not gels) and B6 combo and it made a HUGE difference. I took it throughout my entire pregnancy. Your biggest job right now is being pregnant. Do what you need to do to get the rest you need. Good luck and it is worth it!

I know all about morning sickness. With my 2nd child I said screw trying other things to see if it got better, I called my doctor and asked for Zofran. iTs an anti nausa medication that they usually give to chemo patients They now have a generic out too so it will be cheaper. I just told my doctor that This is the same as last pregnacy and i'm done trying things. Seriously it helps. and the pills melt in your mouth...they have a nasty taste but OMG do they work. and its safe for the baby of course.. If you don't want to do that take a b6 and 1/2 a unisom ( sleep aid) that was also one of the things that i tried with BOTH pregnancy. It worked pretty well int he VERY beginning but my morning sickness got worse and worse. I hope this helps and good luck to you!

Hi A.,

I read some of the other posts which also mentioned B6. During my two pregnancies I took a supplement from GNC called B100s. It has like 100 mg or units of all the major B vitamins including B6. I never got sick once and I am very prone to motion sickness. I really think it was the B6 in the supplement though because I had heard it helps the morning sickness.

All I can say is, I know, it sucks. Hopefully it won't last much longer.

I have a friend that has gotten sicker with each pregnancy - and she told me that her doctor prescribes her an anti-nausea medication.

So I would suggest talking to your doctor and hopefully this passes quickly!
