Mundelein Family Looking for Great Daycare in the Area - North Chicago Suburbs

We are researching daycare centers for our 2.5 year old twins in the Mundelein area - that includes everything within 5 miles such as Vernon Hills, Libertyville, Lake Forest, Lake Zurich, Grayslake, etc. What are the best and worst in the area?

GOOD EXPERIENCES: At the Bright Horizons at CDW in VH. Not going there due to wait list.
BAD EXPERIENCES: Several Kindercare in the area. They were infants, so maybe toddlers are better.

Also, we are looking at several Montessori, so if you have any info on the Montessori centers, that would be great too.

Quality is what is important, but with twins it gets expensive ($1200-3000 total a month) so we're trying to not spend that $2500-3000 a month if we can avoid it.

Thanks,
Richard

Hi,

My son went to The Children's House in Libertyville ( a Montessori ). He went there from 7 1/2 months until he was six. Even after I changed jobs I kept him there because he loved it. Some days he didn't want to leave. The director's name is Robin Serafin and she has been there since the beginning. The phone number is ###-###-####. It is located at 223 Golf Road which is next to a fire station and right by Condell Hospital.( right off of Milwaukee by the Honda dealership) Robin also used to be a nurse.

Good luck,

M. and her son Eric.

The Round Lake Beach Children's World. I know the members and they are a loving group. Shari (director) is a very professional mom/director.

My sister is also a teacher there and has been for quite a bit now.

I dont know the prices but you could always call. They are on Route 83 ###-###-####.

I hope you find your child care not matter where you decide to go.

Thanks,
J.

If Highland Park is not too far, my son goes to The Early Childhood Center for Innovative Learning. The school is only 2.5 years old, it is almost like a well kept secret still.

We have been so happy with the teachers, director and support staff. It is the CLEANEST facility we visited. The teacher to student ratio is better there than any other daycare in the area. They also offer a sibling discount.

contact Tiffany Carter - director ###-###-#### or ____@____.com

Hi. We've had a bad experience at Minee Subee in Lincolnshire. My infant and my 3 year old were there for 6 months. I didn't realize how much I disliked it until my kids started at Condell Day Center. It is wonderful. At least for us. Clean environment. Great outdoor equipment, indoor play equipment and even a gym to play in if the weather doesn't permit outdoor play. The teachers really care. And my kids really liked going there. I just pulled them out since our third daughter was born and I decided to be a SAHM. I have to say it's expensive but I visited a dozen centers and in the end this one was worth it. On a side note we were on a waiting list for Central YMCA day center. It was the only other play I liked.
