Is he on formula? If so, try the formula designed for spitting babies...I think Enfamil makes the brand name but Target does a generic. I think it just has rice cereal in it to make it thicker but it's ground up so fine that you don't notice. I don't know if I'd recommend that you put cereal in the bottle though. At four months, he could start on rice cereal by spoon. We started my son that early b/c he was on soy formula and was just never full, so it might help, it gives them more substance in their bellies. If you're breast feeding then I would cut out all dairy products and see how that goes. A warning though that lactose can stay in your system for many weeks, so you may not notice a huge difference right away but give it time.

Some babies are prone to spitting up till about 1 yr old. It's very common.
I think it has less to do with what they eat and more to do with the maturity of their digestive tract.

Both of my boys were happy spitters and remained that way until about 8-9 months. Google 'happy spitter' and read information from a reputable site (like from webmd) about 'happy spitter'.

We went through lots of bibs and burp cloths. Once my boys were on table foods and spending less and less time on their bellies, the spitting up stopped. It's annoying but harmless.

Make sure you feed her in an upright position so the air in her tummy will get pushed out as the milk goes in. Otherwise it gets trapped and causes gas, spitting up and colic.

my son spit up till he was 6months old (sat up by himself) and it just stopped. i would try a different formula. we were on similac until recall and threw that up all the time! he is now on parents choice by walmart..no spit up and no constipation! just so u know acid reflux meds didnt work for him. this just went away on its own. he was a "happy spitter". try gas drops also.
hope it goes away soon. i know its soooo frustrating but it does get better!
