My 2 year old son has low muscle tone. A physical therapist suggested that I try doing yoga with him. While I exercise daily I am not a yoga person so need a DVD to help us out. Can anyone suggest a kid yoga DVD? I have 2 older boys as well, ages 4 and 7, so would like one that is fun for all of us to do together. I looked online, but there are so many to choose from that I just don't know where to start. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

My girls have loved YogaKids' Silly to Calm and ABCs. The moves are fun and seeing the kids do the moves made it exciting for my girls. My younger daughter took Mommy and Me Yoga with me last summer through park/rec and we shared the DVDs with her teacher. She thought they were good and incorporated some of them into her classes.

My son has a YogaKids DVD that goes from energized to calm...and he loves it. He's 5, but his 2 year old brother does it with him and does ok. We got it from my sister-in-law for Christmas last year? Two years ago? and she got it on the recommendation of a friend who regularly does yoga, so I guess it's "good" by those standards as well. I just like that it gets my kids moving a little! I think there are several DVDs in the YogaKids series.

Do you have DirecTV? They have a channel Fit TV that has Yoga several times a day. Channel 261 here.

I also recommend the YogaKids dvds. We have ABC's and Silly to Calm. My almost five year old has been doing them for 2 years and still loves and requests them.

I know you asked this a few days ago, but I have the Yoga Kids DVD by Giam also (Target or target.com is where we got ours) and my 4 year old LOVES the ABCs one. She never really did the silly to calm one. If he doesn't bite immediatly on the process take him with you to pick out a sweet yoga mat, solid in his fav color naturally. Good luck!

My kids beg me to play the 'yogamazing' "Yoga for the kid in all of us", 'an interactive beginner yoga program for the entire family'. I like it because on the dvd there is a parent and the child performing the exercises. My friend who has been teaching yoga exercises for many decades recommended it and we LOVE IT.

I suggest you try the library first. They often have a few if not many to try. Once you find one that you and your kids like it probably wouldn't be hard to find it on the internet and probably others in a series with increasing difficulty levels. Good Luck!
