Love my OB/GYN. all female doctors (except one, who I have never had to see). Womancare South Hills. I see Dr Alvarado. Also love Dr Lebovitz and Moore. They have offices in Wexford and Bethel Park and at Magee Hospital in the city. Good luck!
Hi,
I am 24 weeks pregnant and will be moving to Pittsburgh in a month. I desperately need to find an OB. I don't know anyone in Pittsburgh who I could ask for advice and so I was hoping that whoever reads this can recommend a good OB? I'd really like for it to be a woman. Thanks so much in advance!
Hello Everyone-
First of all, thank you for taking the time to help me out. I would have never thought that so many people would care about my problem and I really, really appreciate you help! I think I will go with WomanCare at Magee since so many of you had such great things to say about them. I called their office yesterday afternoon and talked to a really nice nurse who answered all my questions and who is no sending me the doctor's "biocards". I have pretty much made up my mind though, and I feel much less nervous about switching doctors so far into my pregnancy. All thanks to you!!!!
Now I will probably wonder every time I am at their practice if one of you is sitting there with me in the waiting room, and we will never know... :-)
Thanks again!!!

As most have talked about WomanCare Associates thats who i see as well. I live in Homestead/Munhall area and its a few minutes up the hill from my house. Also Magee Womans hospital has its own clinic with many doctors, I went there when i was pregnant cause i was unaware that my own gyne did ob. Good Luck!

If you are moving into this area let me know and i can give you the number.
Hi! I just had my first child 5 months ago. I went to a Doctor Dr. David Deitrick with Metropolitin OB/GYN Assoc. at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh the phone number is ###-###-####. He is the most incredible doctor I've ever seen. I know you said you'd like to have a woman, but if you cannot find one you like I would try him. One bit of advice if you would go with him refuse to see the other Doctor in his office named Dr. Kahlili.
I will never change doctors though he is wonderful!!
J. Sauers
Good Luck!!
Depending on where you live, I really like my doctors. East Suburban Ob/Gyn. They have office an office in Monroeville. Dr. Selednik is my favorite. Good luck.
West Penn Ob/Gyn is a wonderful practice. they have offices all over. I use Dr. McNulty who is amazing but the whole staff is great.
I have had great experiences with Western PA Women's Healthcare Associates they are an all-woman office and have delivered both of my kids. They were great at following our birth plans (if you don't have 1 written, I think they are great, just a nice piece of paper that states what you do/do not want at your birth, I got a template online somewhere). Drs. Krupski, Noh, & Woo were all great at listening and answering my questions. Hope this helps, good luck! Let me know if you have anymore questions about them.
Dr. Anne Shaheen of OBGYN Associates of Pittsburgh. Number is ###-###-####. Only problem is she is with a group, and you may not get her for your delivery. I was lucky and did get her for my delivery. In fact, I was using another doc in the group, but the way Dr. Shaheen handled my delivery made me change my mind. I see her at the Oakland office, which is in Pittsburgh city limits. The group has two other offices.
Good luck with your transition to Pittsburgh!! I, too, am a transplant ...from Georgia. My husband is from here.
Hi! Welcome to Pittsburgh!
I also used WomanCare Associates. They have a number of branches all over the area with many great doctors. I have seen most of the doctors at the Downtown location, and both South Hills locations. (I wanted to make sure that I saw all of the doctors at least once during my pregnancies so that I would have met the person on call when I had my children.)
Doctor Deborah Whiteside ended up delivering both of my kids - she is WONDERFUL!
If you look at their locations & have any questions on any of the doctors, I am happy to give you some feedback!
Good luck & congratulations!
I LOVED my practice. The have offices in Oakland (right down the road from Magee), Fox Chapel and Monroeville. I have two friends who all used the same practice and we all loved it.
The practice is called OB/GYN Associates of Pittsburgh, and the Oakland number is ###-###-####.
They have added some OBs since my daughter was born, but I'll give you the rundown on the docs I saw:
Dr. Hazel - was my GYN and I love her dearly. A wonderful supportive doctor.
Dr. Shaheen - is my new GYN - she delivered my daughter and I can't say enough about her. Great energy and REALLY listens to her patience. Was the most positive about my birth plan.
Dr. Kremser - he was the first doc I saw and he bounded into the room and said, "Your having a baby - that's so exciting!" I saw him several times when my baby would quit moving for a long period of time 16-18 hours and it was always nothing. But he brought me in, hooked me to a monitor, even offered additional sonograms if it would make me feel better. (If anyone offers you that - TAKE IT! I didn't and regret it.)
Dr. Thomas - a very warm, nice man. Was very supportive of my decision to have an amnio.
Dr. Carson - he is not warm and fuzzy, but he delivered Dr. Shaheen's kids and she and Dr. Hazel both said of all of them, he has the best instincts and he is the one they would want in the room with them. He saw me through my induction and the early part of my labor and there is a dry sense of humor in there.
Good luck!

Dr Larry McNulty, West Penn OB/Gyn. He is wonderful. I have been with him for 20 years now. He delivered my daughter (an associate delivered my son because I went into labor a month early). The whole practice from the staff to the doctors are wonderful and very women-centered. The main office number is ###-###-#### but they have offices all over Pittsburgh. They really are the best or I wouldn't be seeing them 20 years later.
It looks like you have great advice from various parts of the city, I moved to Pgh when I was 27 wks pregnant a few years ago. I used Womencare Associates orange division at Magee Hospital (part of UPMC). It is in Oakland and very close to homes in the East End and Southside neighborhoods. They are a wonderful, all female practice. ###-###-####. Goosd luck and welcome to Pittsburgh!
Do you know what part of Pgh you'll be living in. The suburban areas are spread out, but in the city the West Penn hospital in Bloomfield, used to have midwives who worked in conjunction with the doctors, and there is a birthing center that I have heard positive things about as well. My doctor came to my house and delivered my son at home. That was a wonderful experience, unfortunately Dr. Ruth Masters is retired. Magee hospital is state of the art in technology, if you are concerned about problems, although I find all the technology they rutinely rely on, a bit intrusive. Good luck!
The city of Pgh is a great place to raise kids!

Where in Pittsburgh are you relocating to?
Dr. Bulseco has a group in the South HIlls (offices are in McMurray and at St. Clair hospital). The group is wonderful. There are 4 women and 1 man. All the doctors are great. The male doctor delivered my son, and he was absolutley wonderful. Their phone number is ###-###-####.
Good luck!
Womencare Associates (at Magee Hosptial) are great. Phone is ###-###-####. I usually saw Dr. Moore (who delivered my son via C-section) or Dr. Alvarado. They are pretty traditional, conservative OBs. If you like a more "holistic" approach," a lot of people like the midwives at Magee too. (I don't know thier number.)
Welcome to Pittsburgh. I hope you love it as much as we do!
Hello M.,
i'm not sure where in Pittsburgh you will be moving but my OB/GYN is OB/GYN of Pgh and they have a couple different locations and they go to Magee Womens Hospital. The phone number to the Monroeville office that i go to is ###-###-####. hope this helps in your search.
:)

Check out McGee Women's Hospital in Oakland! I'm 21 weeks pregnant and have gone there the whole time. They're fantastic!
TRY,
Dr Rossato; Robinson obgyn. ###-###-####. Shes in Robinson township and at ohio valley. Good luck with your move.
I'm not sure of your benefits so I'll give you one for each system that is around this area:
I use Penn Plum Family Medicine, Dr. Gregory Smith and his associates. They are all SO wonderful & all deliver at Magee. There are several offices so it should be easy to get to no matter what part of Pittsburgh you're in. I go to the Fox Chapel office, the number is ###-###-####. They can give you a number or info on any other office if a different one is closer. They carry UPMC Benefits.
For my first child I had Dr. Murhaf Naddour. He is amazing! Dr. Naddour is located out of Natrona Heights and the number is ###-###-####. They carry benefits for West Penn Allegheny Health System.
