Anyone deliver their baby in the last year at Medical Center of Plano? I am due April 11, not sure if natural or c-section just yet, but wanted to find out other moms opinions on how their birth experience was there, as well as their aftercare & support from hospital staff, comfortableness of the room, etc. What did you like, what did you not like? Any opinions positive or negative are appreciated, as well as any advice for during the hospital stay. I have only dealt with their emergency room, and had a good experience then, so hope the rest of the hospital is just as great.

Thanks in advance and God Bless!

Thank you all for the great responses! Sounds like I should be in for a good experience. I have never actually stayed in that hospital so your opinions really help!

Thanks again!

S.,

I delivered my son at Medical Center of Plano in Feb. 2006 and will deliver my second there next month. I had a wonderful experience there and can't say enough good things- particularly about how caring and helpful the nurses were. My son was breech so I went through an external version, then being induced, and finally when I didn't progress a c-section. The nurses were so great through all of it. In fact, the doctor that delivered my son has since moved to Presby Plano, so I changed doctors so I could deliver at MCP again.

Also, my son had to be in NICU for two days and they could not have been more wonderful there. MCP has a Level III NICU which is prepared for just about anything. That is a must for me from now on. Chances are you won't need their services, but it's so good to know that they will be prepared if you do!

Congratulations to you and your family!

God bless,
K.

I love Medical Center of Plano. I have delivered both my children there by c-section, though I did labor with my daughter for a really long time, before the c.

I love all the nurses, they are great and ready to make you do anything they can to help. Their menu is actually pretty darn good and you can call for meals when you want them and order what you want.

The labor & delivery rooms are really nice and the post rooms are nice too as far as hospital rooms go.

I didn't have a problem with the lactation consultants, I knew with no doubt I wouldn't be breastfeeding my second and one I told them that nobody said anything else.

Good luck on your delivery!

I too had a good experience in September 2006 with my son's delivery (c-section). I had also had a external version a couple of weeks prior to the delivry. Overall everyone was nice and helpful in my 3-4 days there (c-section), there was 1 baby nurse I did not care for and 1 of my nurses - but overall - it was a good experience.

Good luck,

I delivered there 9/2006 and had a wonderful experience. I was in the hospital on bedrest for a week prior to delivery and the nurses were absolutely wonderful, very caring and nurturing. My son also had to spend some time in the NICU due to prematurity and I was happy with the staff their as well.
