I use mostly cloth, but we do use disposables on occasion. I've heard horror stories about the Pampers, so we've chosen not to use them. I use generic diapers and have no problems. WalMart makes a generic that is comparable to the Pampers DryMax. They are a LOT cheaper too.

I have used the dry max diapers on my duaghter with no problems. On occasion they have gotten very wet and still no rash (just sagging). With my kids the only real rashes were when they were teething, sick or if a dirty diaper was not caught promptly (like nights or car rides).

Despite all the press, several independent sources have tested the diapers, their ingredients and found no correlation between the diapers and the rashes children have been experiencing.

I'd get a small container of them, try them on your child and see if they react. If not, go for it.

Ditto to DanaW, they tried it out and nothing. Although I don't doubt that the "independent sources" weren't hired out by Pampers. I have decided to go cloth diapering for many reasons and the chemicals in the disposables have been a huge reason. If you would like to know more info you can message me anytime. FYI they are compleatly different then back in the day and super easy. But I know it's not for everyone :D

I have been using the Pamper Dry Max on my daughter. She has skin that if you look at her she will end up with redness on her skin! She has had no rashes. Other Mom's here have suggested a trial to see what works for you. I did that with Huggies (just to see) and they did not fit her as well as the Pampers.

pampers is the only diaper that DOESN'T give my DD issues! I tried her in some generic and store brands, and they either wouldn't fit right and have lots of leaking and blowouts, or her skin would be a lot more susceptible to rashes. Put her back on pampers, and absolutely no issues. :)

No problems with them. I love pampers!
Like a previous response said get a small package and test them out. My daughter has eczema and I always have to try the diapers out on her before I buy the large boxes. Some of them break her out even more (huggies mostly). Remember every child, and every child's skin is different.

I have used them with my little one and didn't have any problems. I have also used genric and huggies with him. I think it is different depending on your child.

We use cloth diapers, but I know some people who had terrible diaper rashes with Dry Max (people who have always used Pampers and who change their kids as often as they did before and only got rashes when Dry Max came out).

Most babies seem to be okay with Dry Max (if your baby is, I wouldn't worry), but some have really severe reactions, with boils and blisters and everything. I know the US Consumer Product Safety Commission was investigating them, but I don't know if they've come to any conclusions yet.

One theory I've heard is that the Dry Max diapers are a lot thinner (this is part of what Pampers advertises about them) ... taking out some of the extra padding leaves the chemicals closer to the skin, where they can irritate the skin more easily. I don't know if it's true, but on the rare occasion we use a disposable, we've steered clear of Dry Max.

Oh yes it does. I have pictures of my son's butt with blisters from it. The doctor said the diapers absorbed to much moisture and gave him almost burn rashes. He still has scars from it. My DH and I emailed pampers but they did nothing about it. what ever you do DON'T USE THOSE DIAPERS ON YOUR BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have seen a news report recently that showed a baby's but COVERED in rash, boils, blisters infected with puss, red and very painful looking. The parents tried everything....different lotion, diaper rash cream, hypo-allergenic baby bath....NOTHING helped. FInally they saw something on the news about how it was affecxting some babies like this and they switched back to Huggies and the rash got better. Pampers has decided it is in their best interest to give parents their money back for any packages they bought if it caused any problems, al;though alleging all the while they are safe. I would NEVER use them, given it is even a possibility it could cause my baby a moment's pain.

I was just trying to find the news story. The more I research, the more I see it: Pampers is *technically* right. Using these diapers does not cause a diaper rash. What they FAIL to say is that they do cause CHEMICAL BURNS!!! (Of course most media does not want to cover this and risk loosing advertizement $$$$$!!!)

No problems with my little guy. Here's a thought, because Dry Max is suppose to "absorb up to 2x more" could moms be leaving babies in their wet diapers a little longer thinking it's all absorbed? That would cause a rash. I'm not suggesting they're neglectful, just maybe thinking the diaper absorbs a lot more than it really does.

My son got his first diaper rash with dry max. So we went back to the pamper baby soft and no more rashes! He does have very sensitive skin though, and its not that we changed him less often either.

No. I use them and love them. When my daughter was born she had very sensitive skin and we have to by the hypo allergenic diapers, but around 4 months we put in her in regulars and she was fine. So we use the Dry max and love them! There have been studies on the diapers with no connection to the rashes. I believe that people figured since they are "DRY MAX" that they just didn't need to change their babys diaper as often.
