Hi Ladies,

I would like to find a new Pediatrician for my almost 5 year old son in the Largo/Clearwater area. I'm looking for someone who will take the time to get to know us and my son and will be available when we need them. I don't like seeing a stranger every time we visit. My son has some sensory processing issues and weight concerns so someone with agood experience in those fields would also be a bonus.

Let me know. Thank you.

What can I do next?

We use Partners in Pediatrics (partners-in-pediatrics.com) in Clearwater ###-###-####).

Drs. Ernesto and Laura Meyer (they are husband and wife). They are both really great. We don't go often, but when we've had to use them, we saw Dr. Ernesto, he seemed to listen to our concerns and respond accordingly.

I don't kow about the sensory issues, but I have no doubt either of them would be able to work with you and your child in a caring way.

I love our doctor she is in St. Pete on 54th Ave. N. and Park St. Our entire family sees her...which means she knows US as a family. VERY seldom that we see someone else. If we do, we see Dr. Frances who's son has sensory processing disorder. SUPER nice doctor....my kids have seen him twice in the past 3 years, so I can't say what kind of doctor he is, but I have no complaints. I know some one who's son has been a patient for 6yrs and they are happy with him.

It was difficult making the switch from Pediatrician to a General Practitioner but we LOVE IT and I have meet other families who have done the same and love it.

Have you taken your son to a Occupational Therapist? If not, I highly recommend Eric Graffeo.....It's For Kids. My son has made huge changes between seeing Eric and putting him in Montessori school.

I hope this helped and good luck on your search!

I live in Tampa but met with Dr. Timothy Vaughan in Largo. And I loved him. If I hadn't found a pediatrician in Tampa that I liked after having met with him, I would have abslouletly made the drive to him. Very understanding and listened to my concerns and thoughts.

We go to Dr. Tim Vaughan in Largo. He is with Bay Pediatrics and he is absolutely wonderful! We switched from another pediatrician's office (a "chain" pediatrician) because we were not happy with the previous one. Dr. Vaughan is a wonderful listener and does not rush you at all. He is the only dr. at Bay Pediatrics and there is also only one nurse, so it is really nice only having to talk to one dr. and one nurse (as opposed to seeing or talking with someone different every time you visit or call). Also, in the event of an after hours emergency, you can just call Dr. Vaughan's office number and leave a message and he will personally call you back literally within minutes with advice/direction on what to do. He puts all of his patient's information on a portable computer, so he has access to the information anywhere (whether he is at home or at the office or on vacation, etc.) Good Luck in your search! Finding a wonderful pediatrician for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. And, Dr. Vaughan's website is www.baypediatrics.com (his website is not fancy and doesn't give him or his office justice, but it will give you some basic contact information for him).
