I've dealt with park district preschools. They are not as equipted as the Luthern school probably would be.
I live in schaumburg and am trying to decide between St. Peter Lutheran pre-school and the schaumburg park district pre-school...just wondering if anyone had their kids enrolled in either one and pluses and minuses of either program...thanks!

I don't have experience with either of these, but would also highly recommend Creative Beginnings Preschool. It is run by two former elementary school teachers, and the program is phenomenal. Their website is http://www.cbpreschool.com/
This will be our sixth year having a child in their program.
My daughter went to Prince of Peace Preschool, also in Schaumburg, and we loved it there as well. There is also a sense of family. However, I think you will find that more in a church setting, than in a park district setting. I checked out the SPD preschool and I wouldn't say anything bad about it, but it felt more like a business. The family who lives behind me goes to St. Peter's and said for the lower grades, it's great. They have some issues as the kids gets older. They felt the public school was a better place for their kids at that age.
Hi J.,
Both of my children go to St. Peters. They absolutely love it there! The preschool students are matched with 2nd graders so they have a 'buddy' for lunch, recess etc. They have daycare before and after school which is a must for me. And there is definitely a sense of family. Mr. Kirsch is an awesome principal and they go out of their way to accomodate the child and parents' needs. Mrs. Reck was my daughter's teacher and we are hoping to have her again, but I heard she might be teaching 1st grade this year. It is definitely a good mix of learning and playing. My 4yo has really advanced since starting. Good luck!
S.-mom to Lauryn (starting 3rd) and Kasie (preschool for 2nd year)
I can't say anything about the SPD preschool but all of my children have gone to St. Peter's ( my youngest is still there) and we absolutely love it. My kids all had the same teacher, and they learned soooo much. Another thing is that there is such a sense of family there. Mr. Kirsh (the principal) is outside every day greeting all the kids, there is a pot luck dinner at the beginning of the year so families can get to know each other and so much more. I also like the religious aspect too. I would definately recommend it. Hope this helps!
I completly agree with Monica. You have to look into Creative Beginnings Preschool. They are the best! My daughter went for two years! In the beginning of the second year we moved to Algonquin and I still continued to take her there. Thats how wonderful they are. You will be so thankful you took her there! Their number is ###-###-####. Address is 1451 Bode Rd Schaumburg. Their names are Joyce Wiklund and Eileen Aronoff. Good Luck!!
