Hello A.,
When I was pregnant I thought about this little being growing inside of me and also looked up these various over the counter meds and honestly did without taking anything, however I have heard only tylenol if absolutely necessary. I understand everyone is different, however this little life inside of you is depending on you to take care of him or her and you are almost half way through your pregnancy. My advise is to hang in there and not take anything if possible. For me, it was peace of mind that I was doing everything to let my little girl grow and thrive. I had really bad heart burn, but I took it without taking anything because everything you ingest oraly goes right to your little one. Go on line and check out what are some natural things you can do for what ales you. The web if full of great remedies. And may I also suggest prayer, if you believe and ask others to pray for you also.

Education not Medication!
Please, in my opinion, no medication is "safe" while pregnant.
Natural headache cures:
breathing
yoga
herbal tea
aromatherapy
walks in nature
etc.
Anything to help you relax
There are many products that are known to feed the body so that it can ward off the discomfort. All you have to do is ask the right people….people who care about HEALTH not those who studies SICKNESS for 7 years and have the right to prescribe drugs.
Please, education not medication. We are too quick to pop a "pill for every ill". Please, think of the baby. Sure the doctors say it is okay…but remember this was the same industry that told pregnant women to smoke a mere 30 years ago so that they “wouldn’t gain too much weight”

Education, not medication. Please.

For what it's worth, I think you did the right thing by not taking any meds.

Stick to Tylenol unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Taking anything
not reccomended by your doctor may cause complications with your pregnancy
and congradulations on the new addition to your family!

What are you taking it for? Neither are good, but tylenol supposedly is more mild on the fetus.

You should not take Motrin. Ibuprofin is not good for a fetus and not good for children under 6 months of age. Definitely avoid it.
Tylenol is ok to take. It's pretty much the only OTC pain reliever that is considered safe to take during pregnancy.

There are herbs that do the same thing and I use a product from biotics. Tumeric and other herbs. Also lots of water. Half your body weight in ounces each day!

YIKES!!!!! Always ask your healthcare provider about ANY meds or herbs during pregnancy. Something that is mild on a regular body can have a terrible result with a pregnant lady. I have yet to see an OB/GYN post here on mamapedia.com, so it is best to address all med questions to your doctor.
BTW- Congratulations on your pregnancy!!!
Are you wanting tylenol for a headache? If so , talk to your DR, pregnancy heacaches are common and there are some good remedies available.

I was told by my OB that only Tylenol is ok. Motrin is a big no-no.

I've always been told just Tylenol. I think the motrin as a no is something to do with its ability to relax muscles and how that effects the uterus.

But, when in doubt, ask your doctor.

Good luck.
